Finley and Alina are part of an ancient magical civilization called Albah. Some call them elves, others call them witches, but in truth no one truly knows what they are or where they are from. The only thing they are certain of is that because their race is capable of creating evil creatures they are being hunted to extinction. 
This is the third installment in the series but it can be read as a standalone. As I started reading the book I had the impression that one had to read the first two books in order to get the gist of this one but as the story progressed it was pretty obvious that was not necessary. 
Finley is an adventurous and one could almost call cynical man that wants nothing to do with the magical family he was born into and couldn’t care less if they truly went extinct. The thing with Finley is that even though he gave up the responsibilities that came with being part of that family, he never gave up his magical gift as he always considered it an intrinsic part of himself. So, when he meets a long lost Albah that never before had the chance to experience life in the magical sense, he realizes what could be lost if all that magic is completely gone, and worst, what would happen to the family and friends he hardly gave himself a chance to meet. 

Of all three books this one is by far my favorite. Not only did the author tell us more details of the world of the Albah, their Guardians, Albanex, and Keepers; but the story also gave us a more expanded view of how they interact with regular humans. I also thought there is a bit more humor in this one but that may be due to the interaction between the two main characters (there is also more sexual content so, fair warning) who are young and free and trying to survive a fight neither one of them asked to be a part of. Overall it was a great read with a unique world-building, just as the previous two books, and I do recommend it to anyone that likes PNR/UF with a different twist.

I thought this was a beautiful quaint little book. My new Man Loves the fact that I'm into fairy's and elementals I love them! Even if I believe they're not really real.

As an Irish cockney though the fae's We got told about weren't all cute and friendly they are quite the opposite. To what the Victorians used to believe At least in Irish lore.

We decided to go on an occult book tour that day and he found this book and got it for me.

It tells the different type of fae's that there are in both the Irish and Scottish lore, The author also took time to tell of what other countries and cultures call there Fair folk.

It's honestly a lovely and very Informative book.

And I loved the cover too!

I've read pretty much everything this author has published in the US so I jumped at the chance to read this new series. It was a short but engaging read that I’m sure I’d have finished reading in one sitting if it hadn’t been because life got in the way.

As a detective investigating a savage murder, Dale has no other choice at the moment but to seek assistance of “psychic” Saba Venn. The only problem was he thought her to be a huge charlatan that took advantage of people that did believe in that sort of things. As an Albah, Saba knew more than she let on but she couldn’t tell Dale much because for one she had secrets to protect, and two because there wasn’t much he was willing to believe.
I liked the world setting and creatures depicted in the story. For such a short reading all characters were well developed and so was the plot. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out who the villain was and that the hero was not the typical Alpha, overbearing type of guy. I thought it was a nice change from other, longer stories.

I also thought the author made a great job creating a believable story between detective and civilian, even as the relationship changed gears to more romantic. Their attraction was there from the beginning but it was not insta-lust and even though it was a short read I never got the feeling that the romance was rushed. Even though Dale’s hesitancy and inflexible attitude put a restraint on the romance it actually gave it a sort of angst-y feeling. But don’t worry, there is a definitely a HEA and there will be more to come since this is just the introduction to the series.

My review for Hunted by Darkness by Katie Reus

Thrilling and sexy Beauty and the Beast of sorts with the kind of HERO and HEROINE partnership I love.

Bo is a half-demon that doesn’t know much about love or how to go about showing it. He’s full of angst and raw feelings and because of his blood lineage he thinks he’s unworthy of beautiful, kind, and demure demigod Nyx.
Nyx has traveled to the earth realm trying to escape from her controlling parents. They don’t even care about her, they never did, not even to teach her the true potential of her powers.

With a creature such as Nyx only a hero like Bo could possibly fit the bill as the perfect male. He was demanding, over-protective, possessive, and was ready to maul anyone that so much as looked as Nyx. As a reader, I would have thought that to be annoying but it actually tied up the story nicely with Nyx’s character. She might have been sweet but she was no one’s ninny and once she understood the extension of her powers she taught Bo a thing or two about “girl power” and he had no choice but to trust her and back down. Most of the female characters created by this author tend to be Alpha and it was kind of refreshing meeting Nyx. She was naïve in her own way but never dull or stupid (I can’t stand those types of heroines).

It was also a treat to travel to another realm and meet different creatures and new amazing characters and hybrids! It was kind of a fantasy meets U/F meets the always awesome PNR by Katie Reus. Can’t wait to see where the story goes from here =D
I definitely recommend it to all lovers of U/F and PNR.
