Shadow's Dream (The Kyn Kronicles #5) by Jami Gray
Shadow's Dream (The Kyn Kronicles #5) - Jami Gray

Shadow's Dream is the fifth book in The Kyn Kronicles, and we reunite with two characters whom we already know - Cheveyo and Tala. Now, it is a while since I read this series, and it did take me a while to remember what was going on, or had gone on in previous books. Cheveyo and Tala have a history, and the majority of the book goes into more detail, so you know exactly who they were to each other, and what has happened to bring them to the current point. This book felt more political to me - with the Northwest going against the Council, and meeting with the Southwest Magi, who are having their own problems.

This story is very well-written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading. The characters and situations are fleshed out, giving you enough detail to relate (or hate). Once again, a full and intricate storyline, meticulously kept together by an amazing author.

I have no hesitation in recommending either this book, this series, or anything by this author. Absolutely wonderful.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Numb
Snap Decision - Jami Davenport

This is book #3 in the Seattle Steelheads series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

Tyler has just won his second Super Bowl.  Yet he feels nothing at all.  He is numb.  Something has to give.  When tragedy strikes, he finds himself doing the last thing he would have suspected.

Lavender had plans to be the owner of a cat.  She was to upgrade a historical home.  Then her friend dies, and it is all gone.  Even the cat.  Should she stick around and teach the new owner what it is like to appreciate the beauty that is where she lives?

This book was completely unexpected.  A whole new concept, and a very good pace.  The characters start out basically hating one another.  I found the emotions to feel real and the story to be different.  It was interesting for sure.  The characters are interesting and their reactions to one another entertaining.  I give this a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Snap Decision (Seattle Steelheads) by Jami Davenport
Snap Decision - Jami Davenport

Jami Davenport scores a touchdown with SNAP DECISION.  Seattle Steelhead's quarterback Tyler Harris is willed a run-down mansion on an island in the Pacific Northwest.  He keeps bumping heads with his new next-door neighbor, Lavender Mead, who is not a fan of football players.  This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.

SNAP DECISION is a clever and fun read.  I enjoyed the banter between Tyler and Lavender.  They are very entertaining.  Tyler is a complicated character.  He is a talented football player who lost his passion for the game.  He’s questioning his worth.  He doesn’t let people see the real him.  Lavender is an enjoyable character.  It is understandable why she does not like/trust football players.  I like how their lives overlapped.

I enjoyed the plot.  I thought the history behind Twin Cedars was interesting.  I love Cougar the cat.  I liked the cuss jar, it added amusing moments.  All the details made the story perfect. I always enjoy Jami Davenport ‘s writing style.  It flows well and is entertaining throughout.  I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Snap Decision (Seattle Steelheads) by Jami Davenport
Snap Decision - Jami Davenport

Will the pain of her past keep her from having a happy future? Will one mistake deter the football star from risking his heart on forever? Snap Decision is a fresh start for two wounded souls. Tyler follows the rules on the field, but has his own maneuvers outside the arena. When a hint of scandal tarnishes his heart, he seeks some solitude to lick his wounds. What he gets is a smart mouth, firecracker with her own baggage to sort through. Lavendar has no time for the big ego and bright lights of Tyler's star. With her own emotions weighing her down, she can't possibly take on anyone else's. That is until Mr. Big Ego teaches her a few lessons in life, love and happy endings. Davenport scores high marks with her wise words and captivating characters.

Hotter
Hockey Holidays - RJ Scott,Kat Mizera,Susan Scott Shelley,Melody Heck Gatto,Jennifer Lazaris,Jaymee Jacobs,Jean Joachim,Melanie Ting,Toni Aleo,Stephanie Kay,Lily Harlem,Kate Willoughby,Lisa B. Kamps,Jami Davenport,Stephanie Julian,Shannon Stacey

This 18 book collection by some of the most amazing authors was such a treat to read!  I loved the humor, heat, and you betcha - even the hockey that was represented in each story.  I have 2 book reviews that I am sharing from this collection for you below.

A Second Shot by Shannon Stacey:

Heartwarming and truly charming, this short and sweet story has us on our toes as we read about a couple who should be together, but have been apart.  Great read of sexy and fun.

A Wolfe Brothers Christmas by Jami Davenport:

Little bit of suspense mixed in with a sweet holiday story that brings a lot of sexy charm to the table.  If you loved her men in their previous stories - you are going to be glad you grabbed this little bit of heaven.  I do recommend that you read the Game On In Seattle series first, however, to avoid spoilers.  Believe me this is worth it!

Each short story included gives a unique and truly hockey flavored look at romance.  What I enjoyed most was that it gave me a chance to relax and enjoy love in my favorite sport.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
