Excerpt:

“Maybe it’s just too different,” Wills says, and this terrifies him. Tell me no, tell me I’m wrong. He feels like he’s falling and Crispin’s supposed to catch him, but instead there’s only empty air.

But Crispin doesn’t say anything. He just looks at Wills with wide, hurt eyes.

“It’s not that I don’t love you. It’s just this isn’t working, Crispin, you know it’s not working, we’re both unhappy and nothing matches up. It’s like real life doesn’t work for us.” Wills feels like crying and starts reciting times tables in his head: an old trick he learned when they were small that still works, sometimes. He’s getting more and more frantic. Crispin’s silence means he agrees.

Crispin just blinks at him with those big sad eyes. Oh god. Wills can’t believe he’s even saying any of this out loud and he can’t believe he’s subjecting Crispin to this, dear god, he can’t believe he’s the one making Crispin look like that. Crispin is so good. Crispin is too good to be with someone like him, someone who can’t even manage to say thank you when his boyfriend hands him a cup of fucking coffee.

“You don’t deserve this,” Wills manages. He can keep everything out of his voice, can sound reasonable, but not for much longer. He means, I don’t deserve you. Wills needs Crispin to hear that and tell him Wills, no, I love you.

“Okay,” Crispin says quietly.

“You don’t deserve to live like this,” Wills says. He’s getting desperate. Say no, Crispin. Say that you don’t know what I’m talking about. Fight with me. Yell at me. Tell me I’m fucking wrong.

“I get it,” Crispin tells him. “I get it, Wills.”

Wills feels like all the air has been replaced with something else, something unbreathable and thick.

“This was always just — you never —” Crispin’s shaking his head. “It never meant as much to you, did it? It never meant the same. Ever. I was a fucking idiot.”

Wills realizes with a hard shock what Crispin means. “No!” he says. “No, Crispin, no, it’s not like that, it’s  —”

Crispin just looks at him. He leans down and starts to unlace his boots. “Then fight for it,” he says quietly. “If you care about me, fight for it.” He walks off.

Julia McBryant is, as the saying goes, Southern born, Southern bred, and when she dies, she’ll be Southern dead. A proud resident of the prettiest city in the whole world, Julia recognized her bisexuality later in life, and has been incredibly grateful for the support she’s received in the LBGTQIA community.

Southern Living Slow Cooker Cookbook
Southern Living Slow Cooker Cookbook - Southern Living Magazine
Another great Slow Cooker favorite which I found at a school book sale. I don’t know what possessed me to pick this up many years ago except that I was starting to use my crock-pot and now, I am obsessed with using it. This book has more recipes in it than I have explored but the ones that I have tried, are fantastic.

Not every recipe in this book has a picture but each recipe has serving size, diabetic exchange information and nutritional information along with step-by-step instructions and a list of ingredients There are five different food categories inside this book: beef, poultry, pork, meatless main dishes, and other meats (shrimp, swiss steak, veal, venison, lamb, cloppino, bouillabaisse, fish,. There is also an index and extras sections which includes desserts, butter, sides, equivalent weights/yields and a Q & A section. The pictures that are included are bright and look delish (even for dishes that I don’t think I would eat).

The ingredients inside this cookbook are not hard to find. Some of these dishes are not ones that I would make but again, I am picky but they are dishes that are simple, use everyday ingredients and the meal you are preparing are for dishes that you could have at home any night/day, it’s not a meal that you’d only prepare for a special occasion. The dishes that I have prepared out of this book were prepared for friends, family, get-togethers, and/or just my husband and I.

I have made the Basic Pasta Sauce (like the fresh tomato flavor in this one), Beef Stroganoff, Hungarian Goulash, Pork Chops and Gravy, and Spicy Apples and Pears. What else looks good: Rio Grande Meat Loaf, Homestyle Potato Soup, Mexican Black Bean Chili, Apple Grunt, Cuban Rice and Red Beans, and Chili Cheese Spuds. In some of the recipes the author tells you how to prep the day before so it’s easy in the morning to put the ingredients together in your slow-cooker. I enjoy this cookbook and the recipes that I have tried, always came out great.

"Pamięć wszystkich słów" Robert M. Wegner
Pamięć wszystkich słów. Opowiesci z Meekhańskiego pogranicza - Wegner Robert M.

Wracamy do Meekhanu?

I będzie to jedna z ciekawszych krain.

I cóż mogę powiedzieć?

The Slow Regard of Silent Things (The Kingkiller Chronicles #2.5)
The Slow Regard of Silent Things - Patrick Rothfuss

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a very charming book. It didn't matter about it not making sense half of the time, because, for me, that is what made it so different and appealing. I mean, the words Patrick Rothfuss has strewn together are way superior to any other normal story we've read countless of times over and over again. For example. I just finished reading Courting Darkness, and it didn't even come close to being as good as this was IMO. I am one of those people who likes this story. Just like his friend Vi whom Patrick mentions in the endnote

I needed to hear these words "It was the worst sort of selfishness to force yourself upon the world." page 108. Wow! So fun and captivating!

A Slow Burn (Dragon Royalty #1) - Terri A. Wilson

A modern dragon straddling the worlds of tradition and the past, Remington Montgomery’s drive for advancement made him one of Atlanta’s finest detectives and one the most sought-after bachelors. Her family pushes her to win in every area of life and raised her to sit on the throne as the reigning Dragon Queen, but no one ever bothered to ask Dai Ito what she wants. They have a love – hate relationship but during a Beltane proclamation Fate chooses them to reign as king and queen. Can they put aside their differences in order to work together to find Dai’s sister when she goes missing?

This romance is a slow burning one where the strong, captivating hero and heroine are thrown together in a situation neither of them wanted. The chemistry sizzles and their relationship is full of passion as the couple put aside their differences for the destiny that Fate has thrown at them but also to find Dai’s sister who has been captured by the very villain that Remington is investigating.

The plot is fast paced and covers a wide range of happenings throughout the story keeps the readers glued to the pages. Although the story is a little short and doesn’t provide a lot of the finer details, the story has an interesting approach to dragons which spices things up and the Artemis Hunters are intriguing and adds thrilling suspense to the story as they seem to be just getting started with some devious plan.
