Charlotte Fedders is back in the news.
Last night -- Monday, 19 February 2018 -- Rachel Maddow featured a follow-up story on Rob Porter, the White House Staff Secretary who was forced to resign when it was revealed that he had abused his ex-wives.
Porter was not the first in the current administration to run afoul of his own shameful (?) past. Andy Puzder had been nominated for Labor Secretary, but was forced to withdraw when similar allegations against him were made. Puzder's ex-wife had claimed she was a guest (in disguise) on the Oprah Winfrey show years ago and detailed the abuse she had suffered.
A search for the tape turned up pretty much nothing, until . . .

Broken by Kelly Elliott is an entertaining read. Ms. Elliott has delivered a well-written book. I love the characters. Whitley is abused by her boyfriend until he puts her in the hospital. Her best friend, Courtney, slips her out of town and they both relocate to Texas. Layton feels everyone has left him, his mother died when he was a teen. His father abandoned him and his brother soon after his mother's passing, his brother was killed and the next day his girlfriend walked out on him. So yes, there is an overabundance of angst in this book. Whitley and Layton's story is full of drama, action, humor and lots and lots of sex. I enjoyed reading Broken, but there is a lot of repetition in this book. Broken is book 1 of the Broken Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel.
