BLURB:

She shouldn't get involved with the cowboy next door...

Laid off from her teaching job in the city, Jemma Monroe takes a job teaching in a tiny town and rents a house on the outskirts. A visitor soon shows up at her door—a horse. His owner, a handsome neighbor in boots and a cowboy hat, comes by to collect him.

When single dad Wyatt Langford meets Jemma, it’s the first time he feels interest in a woman since his wife left. But she’s his daughter’s new teacher, so they both know they should keep their distance.

Nonetheless, Wyatt keeps finding excuses to spend time with Jemma, and Wyatt’s daughter becomes more and more attached to her. With them, Jemma discovers the good things about country life, from starry skies to s’mores cooked over a fire. But she still misses her past life in the city. Is there any reason for them to dream of a future together?

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Jemma has an upheaval in the middle of the school year. Luckily she ends up in the most heavenly small town. When she meets her neighbor, she decides he must hate helping her.

Wyatt cannot believe how attracted to his daughter's teacher he is. He knows she should be off limits. She is not planning to stay, either. If he could just turn the attraction off enough to be just friends.....

This story just grabbed me from the start. The characters are witty, charming, and seriously attracted to one another! With this story, I eagerly turned the pages. Humor, surprises, and even bits of whimsy appeared.

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she'd be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they're sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband, three children, an overly-dramatic tomcat, & an adorable one-eyed kitty named Agent Fury.

A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER by Rebecca Moesta
A Christmas to Remember: Based on the Hallmark Channel Original Movie - Rebecca Moesta
Jennifer needs to get away so she borrows her friend's chalet in Aspen but never arrives because of a car crash where she emerges with amnesia.  She is found on the road by John and taken in by him and his family.  Living with them she discovers things she forgot she did not like and remembered what it is like being part of a family.  She is eventually found by her friend and returned to a life that she learns she does not want.

This is a sweet Hallmark romance.  I enjoyed the story and characters.  The book fleshes out the movie.  There are thoughts in the book that cannot be shown in the movie.  There is the snake in the grass but there are also good people who come to love Jennifer.  This is a favorite of mine.

ARC REVIEW The Secret Ingredient by Nancy Naigle

The Secret Ingredient This book is so freakin' cute if the publisher wasn't already Hallmark I'd say it screams Hallmark. I loved the characters, I loved the story, I really enjoyed the baking competition. One of my favorite tropes is second chance romance and this was such a great one. Kelly and Andrew were highschool sweethearts they met at her dad's diner he was the cook and she waited tables and baked they were kindred spirits. They had made plans to open a restaurant together but when the opportunity for Andrew to study baking in Paris came up he took it with a promise he'll be back for their wedding. Andrew was then offered a spot in a culinary school and he never made it back home.

Kelly may not have had Andrew there to help fulfill her dreams but that didn't stop her from going on alone; she started The Cake Factory. A custom cake business that made it big when a rockstar gave her a shout out at a local music festival since then the business has boomed, it's even helped turn Bent Fork from a quaint little town to a place to be. Fast forward seven years Andrew is finally back stateside and visiting his family before he has to go to New York, he wanted to keep the visit quiet but his sister in her usual fashion couldn't let him which turned out to be a good thing because he got to see Kelly again. The first time in seven years they see each other and his feelings for her haven't changed or diminished in any way. Kelly would love nothing more than to give into her feelings for him but she knows he's just going to leave again. He's made a name for himself in France and while he may not have his own restaurant yet his life is in France and she can't let him in to her heart only to watch him walk away again.

To Kelly's surprise she gets invited to compete in her favorite bake-off competition show's Valentine episode. The only stipulation is that she can't tell anyone she going to be on it. Unbeknownst to her Andrew is also going to be on the show. Once in New York, Naigle builds the anticipation and creates the same feeling you get when watching a baking competition on T.V. She describes the action of the competition so well along with the mouth watering confections Kelly and Andrew make. I really wanted cake after reading this book. Overall, Naigle once again creates wonderful characters in a quirky small town and gives us a statifyingly good romance with such a sweet ending.
