This new series is off to an excellent start which isn’t all that surprising considering who the author is. Asher and Naomi are two strong, vibrant characters that easily draw readers into their story as they try to keep everyone alive and struggle with the attraction that sizzles with lots of heated chemistry. The relationship is one that the characters aren’t sure they want to pursue due to their friendship and the events of the past which has lots of turbulent emotions flowing from the pages but it sweet and inspiring as they try to come to terms with all the changes in their life. On top of the relationship issues this story is about one wolf’s rise to Alpha status, a status that he doesn’t think he’s good enough for, or ready for but one that he desperately needs to make happen if he is to pull the pack together and keep them safe from their enemies.

The plot is fast paced and full of thrilling suspense, adrenaline pumping danger and surprising twist which keeps readers glued to the pages. The story has several obstacles and adverse elements to be overcome, one being the threat of the shifter world being exposed to the humans, jaguar enemies trying to eliminate and/or capture the Sedona pack, the need of an alpha for the pack and the friction between born and bitten making things difficult for this group of shifters. This new direction in Lisa Kessler’s shifter world is exciting and promises lots of deliciously intriguing future stories as well as continuing her creative and fascinating world of wonderful characters and thrilling suspense that readers can’t help but become enthralled by.

With surprising twists, headstrong shifters and a sizzling romance, the situation is dire and full of tension that is further complicated by the mating instincts of this couple. The author brings all of her wonderful characters and exciting world to life with vivid imagery that makes it easy for reader’s to become enthralled with the story and since all of the characters have some odd quirks, the story has a realistic feel to it during the excitement of the mission and during the ups and downs of the relationship between Cole and Stella. There is never a dull moment to be found during this story which means readers don’t want to put the book down until they have read every last detail.

SPOTLIGHT & REVIEW: The Dark Vampire (Last True Vampire #3) Kate Baxter

Plagued by the shadows of his past, Jenner stalks the night unable to satisfy his insatiable desires until a beautiful vampire sets his soul on fire in this spectacular paranormal romance. This series is a fascinating mix of mythology with a very creative spin, some interestingly different elements and an overall plot that ensures I am going to keep coming back for more and Bria and Jenner’s story is one that held me hostage from beginning to end, not to mention that it had a few surprises that will surely spice up future books even more and I can’t wait.
