REVIEW BY MERISSA - Fighting Faete (Beyond The Veil #5) by Elena Kincaid; Maia Dylan; Sarah Marsh
Fighting Faete (Beyond The Veil #5) - Elena Kincaid,Sarah Marsh,Maia Dylan

Fighting Faete is the fifth book in the Beyond The Veil series, and this series shows no signs of slacking. Each story is wonderful as a standalone, but together, they are brilliant. Kat is the Beta, and as such she knows very few men that are more dominant than her, and even less that she would like to mate with. She pits herself against bigger, tougher opponents, just to see if she will find someone more dominant. What she doesn't know is she already has her mates, and they are JUST as dominant. Kat needs to figure out how to have a relationship WITH them, and they need to figure out how to deal with someone as strong and sassy as Kat is.

This story is a welcome addition to the series. I've wanted Kat's story ever since she ran from Aeron and Alak. Before they get together is laugh out loud funny, but once they get together, the sparks fly even more. Well written, and with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, Fighting Faete is an action-packed story, with highs and lows and surprises. The pacing is smooth, with no jarring at any time. A great addition to the series, and highly recommended by me.

Pepper's Journey Home (Grey River #9) by Maia Dylan
Pepper's Journey Home - Maia Dylan
Pepper's Journey Home is the ninth book in the Grey River series, and we get to know Pepper in more detail. We met her briefly in Melaina's book, but this one quite rightly focuses on her. She is a very strong psychic, but with a strong sacrificial streak. She feels that she is broken after all she has been put through. Her mates just have to prove to her that she isn't.

Once again, this book is simply amazing. I love the interaction with the 'ladies' of the pack, and the conversation about buttercream filling had me laughing out loud. I also love when sarcasm flows straight off the page, which it did in this. Absolutely perfect. Those t-shirts that Faith makes... a small additional detail that makes each book great.

One thing I will say is that I didn't take to Tomas as much as I did Diego. And I don't know why. I liked him, don't get me wrong, but I guess Diego pushed more of my buttons! And I did feel slightly sorry for him (although he didn't seem concerned at the time) that Tomas got to get both 'firsts'. Seemed a bit greedy to me ;)

Anyway, that is by the by. To get technical now, there were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and this pace was smooth. With plenty of sexy bits, there is also a lot of character growth. Humour galore, action, sincerity - it's all here. Definitely recommended by me.

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Catching Faete (Beyond The Veil #4) by Elena Kincaid, Maia Dylan & Sarah Marsh
Catching Faete - Elena Kincaid,Sarah Marsh,Maia Dylan
Catching Faete is a short but sweet novella that gives more information about Erica, Leo, and Ben, and the twins that were given to them. Even though it was ordained by the Goddesses, there are still some on the council who think that the twins should be raised by Dark Fae. So Aneena comes to watch them for a fortnight, to then report back to Alak, Aeron, and the council about their suitability. Now for anyone who has ever looked after a baby, whether you were the parent or not, there is a scene is this book that literally had me laughing aloud as I have dealt with more than one baby who had 'exploded'. I'm thinking that there must be some personal experience that went into the writing of that scene. The whole novella though is beautifully written, with tender, poignant scenes; with scenes that will get your pulse racing and your temperature rising.

Although short, you get all that you need to in this book, whilst the authors still drop hints and teasers about what might be coming next. Extremely well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, I thoroughly enjoyed this little addition. Absolutely recommended by me.

Deciding Her Faete (Beyond The Veil #2) by Elena Kincaid, Maia Dylan, & Sarah Marsh
Deciding Her Faete - Elena Kincaid,Sarah Marsh,Maia Dylan
Deciding Her Faete is the story of Donovan, the Beta of Gabe's Pack who we met in book 1, his brother Jason, and their mate April. It starts off straight-forward - April is their mate, kidnapped by the evil Kheelan, together with Jason. Donovan has to rescue them both. Sounds simple, doesn't it? Trust me, it's not. There is one helluva plot to this book, and it is full on action - whether that is inside the bedroom or out! We re-meet characters from book, noticeably Corrinne, Gabe, Erica and her mates. We also learn the cost that Erica has had to pay for using her healing gifts to get rid of Alefric.

This is once again smoothly written, with no transitions visible as it changes from one author to the next. The storyline itself is intriguing and complex, offering so much more still to come. This is a story in and of itself, although it does lead nicely onto the next book. This is turning out to be a wonderful series, and definitely recommended by me.
