Klappentext:

Meine Bewertung: 5/5

HOT SEAL Rescue (HOT SEAL Team) (Volume 3) - Lynn Raye Harris

Hot Seal Rescue is an amazing addition to the HOT series from Lynn Raye Harris. I read and loved all of the books to date in both the original HOT series and the HOT Seal series and find myself loving each book more than the last. In fact, I'm pretty sure Hot Seal Rescue is my favorite book in the full series to date...of course I don't have Mendez's book yet.

I love a strong heroine, and Miranda Jane Lockwood is the epitome of a strong woman. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she had Cowboy in her corner from the beginning, but with everything that had been thrown at her in this story, a lesser woman would have been curled up in a ball on the floor. Miranda never stopped fighting no matter what surprises were thrown her way and I loved her every bit as much as I loved Cowboy.

I knew it would take a special lady to make Cowboy fall, and when Miranda "kidnapped" him in Vegas, I knew he had found a woman strong enough to be his. I loved them as a couple from the moment they met, even though it wasn't in the best of circumstances and things only got crazier from there. I loved neither could seem to keep their hands off the other if they were anywhere near each other. They had some of the hottest chemistry of any couples in the series, and all the couples to-date have had pretty incredible chemistry.

I'm a fan of romantic suspense and Lynn Raye Harris totally delivers every single time on having a major mission with full-blown suspense. I had an idea of what was going in, but will admit she threw me for a loop with the twist in Hot Seal Rescue, and I absolutely loved it. I figure out so many suspense books in advance, it was nice to have a bit of a "what" moment.

I highly recommend the entire HOT series to romantic suspense fans everywhere. While I believe you know more about the characters if you read the books in order, because so many characters from other books cross over, you could still pick up Hot Seal Rescue and read it as a stand-alone and be okay. Just be prepared to go back and want to read all the other books in the series very, very soon.

Rating: 5 Stars (A)

There is a reason I read this.
Seal Team Bravo: Black Ops - Eric Meyer

Why in the hell did you read this, MR? This is the question that you are probably asking right now, looking at the title and cover of this book.

Well, let me tell you why. I'm participating in a giant team challenge on GR and one of the tasks that we needed to fulfill was a book with soldiers on the cover. I'd been side-eyeing at that task as though it was this:

(which, as a total aside, was in my bathroom sink yesterday morning. I was sad to burn down the house, but it had to be done, you understand.)

In any case, somebody had to read something or we weren't going to be able to get a new task. My dad, bless his heart, apparently reads these things, so I picked the shortest one that I could find and I downloaded it and (skim)read it over my lunch hour.

It is every bit as awful as you would expect, but then again, I am totally not the audience for his book. Having said that, this book is a series of cliches and stereotypes packed into a patriotic pablum that is easily digestible by people who see the world in black and white. If you like your propaganda pre-digested for you, and are seeking books that will leave your jingoistic perspective entirely unchallenged, this one is for you.

Let me add, as well, that I do not say this out any disdain for the United States miltary, which does mostly great work under frequently difficult circumstances. This sort of one-dimensional approach to the complicated issues just isn't my thing.

HOT SEAL Lover (HOT SEAL Team) (Volume 2) - Lynn Rae Harris

I adore both the HOT series and now the HOT Seal series from Lynn Raye Harris. I love the two teams work together so often that I get to see all my favorite characters from past books in the new books. I was absolutely captivated from the very first page of HOT SEAL LOVER and didn't want to put it down.

First let me just say I have mad love for Remy Marchand. Hello, he is a SEAL, but he also has a sense of honor that is deeply ingrained in him that goes beyond the uniform. I loved that even though he was insanely attracted to Christina from the very first moment he saw her, he wanted to take things a little slower to make sure she was ready for that next step. Let me just say Remy and Christina had smoking hot chemistry. I loved Remy and Christina together. I totally got Christina being so cautious about another relationship based upon her ex-husband cheating on her with another man. I could tell Christina was completely into Remy, but her desire to only have a one-night stand with Remy really didn't make sense to me. He is hot, yummy, and an honorable man, who was completely into her.

When Remy and his team were called in to rescue Christina and other Americans from Qu'rim, I knew it wouldn't take long for the sparks to fly between Christina and Remy again. I have to say after how Christina blew Remy off, I was pretty happy for him to show some anger towards her, not only for blowing him off, but for no listening when he had warned her it was a bad idea to come to Qu'rim. I have to say i love how hard the HOT SEAL team worked to keep everyone safe and loved watching all of Remy's team give him a hard time about Christina. The action in Qu'rim between the HOT SEALs and the enemy is what I've come to expect from Lynn Raye Harris. Fast-paced, action filled with the team protecting the civilians and always putting their charges above themselves. I am always on the edge of my seat reading when the team is on a mission, and it was no different this time.

I loved that Remy and Christina found a common ground for their relationship while in a war zone.  The fact that Remy and Christina's brother are in the same line of work was eye opening for Christina and I think it made her respect and love both men more. I only had one issue with the story and that was Christina's ex coming back into the picture once she and Remy were dating. I knew it could be bad early on, and my fears were realized. The fact that Christina wanted to protect Remy every bit as much as he wanted to protect her made me love her character even more.

HOT SEAL LOVER was a great addition to the HOT Seal Team series. I find myself falling more and more in love with these characters with each story. I love that each book allows me to spend time with characters from past books and try and figure out who will get the next book in the series.

Hunt the Dragon
SEAL Team Six: Hunt the Dragon - Don Mann,Ralph Pezzullo

I think this is probably going to be the last book in this series that I am going to read. It wasn't bad, it's just that I no longer like the main character, Crocker. I've almost grown to hate him because of all his whining about his family and how much he blames the breakdown in his marriage on his soon to be ex-wife, Holly. When you don't like the main character it makes it hard to read the book.

That being said I did end up enjoying this overall. It had some good action scenes, which is something I had previously enjoyed about this series. I also love how relevant this to current events. One thing I didn't like (besides Crocker) was that the ending was very drawn out and it became boring at times.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the galley.
