“I know, right?” Dex held back a smile. “I mean, I don’t understand how that bullet didn’t bounce off you, what with you being indestructible and all.”
Can I say how much I love this series? IMO, it just gets better with every installment. This installment picks up right after Smoke & Mirrors. So much happened those last chapters. I'm very excited about Dex's hybride form he has taken from Sloan. This makes their relationship so much more interesting.
That sex-scene with Sloan and Dex, them fighting for dominancy was freaking hot. But in the end there will be only one Alpha...
"Say it," Sloane said with a growl.
"You're the Alpha here."
"And?"
"I'm yours. Only yours. You're a part of me, Sloane. Always."
Also I loved Ash... He has come a long way. His feelings for Cael were kinda mushy. I loved it.
"Unless he kicks me to the curb, I ain't going anywhere...
Let's face it. They've got us by the balls. But here's to loving every second of it."
Great to see the road this series is taking us.
Their future might be uncertain, but one thing wasn't - no matter what happened or what they faced, they had a family to come back to, one that grew stronger with every passing day. Destructive Delta wasn't just a team. It wasn't a badge or a patch on their sleeve. It was home.
I'm ready for team Theta Destructive and especially Seb and Hudson's story!!
Is is April yet?
This is the 8th book in the acclaimed THIRDS series. This book can be read as a standalone. As it is a continuation of previous stories, I recommend reading this great series in order.
The mystery continues as Dex & Sloane try to figure out how to live with Dex being different. It is not bad, just not what they are used to. He is more aggressive, assertive, and even more aware.
Sloane has a lot to answer for, as he and Dex make decisions to move into their future. Friends, family and co-workers alike are shocked and upset. Now it is up to them to make them understand.
This series moves at such a fast pace! I love the thrilling stories and unbelievable mysteries. The main characters are under the gun in this one. There are many surprises in store for the reader. I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
'Thick & Thin' is the 8th installment in Charlie Cochet's series THIRDS and for me it was more of a bridge linking what's happened to the changes that are about to happen and the new direction that things seem to be going in.
It wrapped up some things from 'Smoke & Mirrors' the 7th book and it also gives us a peak at the changes that will be happening to Destructive Delta as a team and on an individual level.
While I liked this and it was nice to get a bit more info to complete the events from 'Smoke & Mirrors' I was a little disappointed at the brevity of the story and it just didn't seem to have the edginess that I've come to expect from this series.
However, I'm still looking forward to seeing what happens next. One of the things that I've really love about this series is that while each story may focus on one couple...Dex & Sloane, Ash & Cael, Calvin & Hobbs...we also get to see what's happening with the rest of the group as well. I love those little glimpses of the individual members and of their interactions with members of the team other than their partner and I have to admit I'm really, really hoping that with this new change we don't lose that. I love Dex & Sloane but I still want to see Dex & Ash tormenting each other, Dex protecting his little brother, Cael or Sloane & Ash having a beer as Ash complains about Dex or to loose the presence of Letty and Rosa the only consistent strong females in the series or the glimpses of this group as they relax on their downtime and party hard at Bar Dekatria.
'Thick & Thin' for me was a story that served as more of a bridge from what was to what will be...whether it's over troubled waters or not remains to be seen and for now I'm willing to make of show of faith and see what Ms. Cochet has in store for us on the other side of the bridge.
