4 Star Night's Kiss
Night's Kiss - Mary Hughes

Kat is a human who hunts vampires, risking death with only her wits, practice, her weapons and her rage in her quest to avenge her parents by destroying every last one of the evil bloodsuckers – starting with their king. Ryker is gorgeous enough to the be the vamp king himself but the devilish arch to his back eyebrow, white unfangy grin and the rocking daytime are good clues that he’s human. He’s the only man that can help Kat locate the king, so she forms an uneasy alliance with him only for them to discover that evil monster are also after their prey…oh and also want Kat and Ryker dead.

The second book in ‘Ancients Series’ is an energetic, thrilling and exciting read full of flying sparks and adrenaline pumping danger. The characters are strong, daring and demand the readers’ attention right from the start and the chemistry between Kat and Ryker sizzles with bright electrical current creating lots of flying sparks to singe the pages as Kat fights their magnetic attraction with some feisty snark and tough as nails attitude. This relationship is balanced on a razor wire that keeps the hero, heroine and the readers on edge throughout as Kay and Ryker, each have the same mission but the their goals are vastly different.

The plot is fast paced with non-stop excitement whether that excitement is coming from clashes between Kat and Ryker, Kat and her long lost family, Kat and her targets, Ryker and the Alliance, or Kat, Ryker and the monsters. With so much action and excitement flowing from the pages, there is never a dull moment to be found and the romance is one where the hero and heroine are the last to know.

Review: A Fatal Collection
A Fatal Collection - Mary Ellen Hughes

An adorable and enjoyable cozy mystery, from the charming location to the cute characters and the excellent plot, it was a fun read. I loved the world that the author created with Keepsake Cove, a beautiful little tourist town in Maryland with quaint little shops and I would love to wander around the music box shop, looking at all the different models. The characters were just as charming as the location, I really liked Callie, a realistic main character that is easy to relate to. But the plot really shined, from the ghostly music box to the twisty plot full of misdirections, I couldn’t read it fast enough.

A Fatal Collection will delight any cozy mystery fan, and this stands out as one of the finest mysteries I’ve read in 2017. I look forward to seeing the series continue, can’t wait for the next book!

Something more
Happily Ever Alpha: Falling for the Billionaire - Victoria Pinder,Jina Bacarr,Opal Carew,Eileen Cruz Coleman,Margo Bond Collins,Rossie Cortes,Tara Crescent,Michele de Winton,Blaire Edens,Nicole Garcia,Erin Hayes,Courtney Hunt,Mary Hughes,Sydney Logan,Alix Nichols,Tierney O'Malley,Peter Presley,Mandy

Happily Ever Alpha: Falling For The Billionaire is an anthology of 20 erotic stories about hot men, who have too much money.  This makes finding a wife even harder.  How do you know she is with you for you and not your bank account?

Because there were so many books inside, I chose Finding Mrs, Right by Debbie White to review.  What was the best part, is that Gabe is honestly trying to find "the one."  His friends fix him up, he meets many women and asks them out, and there are certainly complications.

It just is such a sincerely funny and sweet story.  I enjoyed seeing him try to find the best of the choices he meets.  Good read and honest picture of what trying to find someone can be like.  I give this story a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Biting Holiday Honeymoons (Biting Love Short Bites Book 1) by Mary Hughes
Biting Holiday Honeymoons - Mary Hughes

Biting Holiday Honeymoons (Biting Love Short Bites Book 1) by Mary Hughes has two short stories.

Biting Halloween is about Elena and Bo's honeymoon being interrupted by vampires. I gave it four stars.

"Then he turned and saw me. Our eyes met.

"An ice-cold shiver ran down my neck. Dracula's ruby eyes were dead. Not blank but ghastly, as if the imps of hell danced in his brain. This guy could kill me like I'd kill a mosquito. No, not even with that much emotion. He'd kill me like he'd pull the wings off a fly.

"Death walked skeletal fingers down my spine. I didn't scare easily but at that I slid off Bo's back and ran away."

Biting Christmas turns nasty when a vamp Santa turns up. It derails another honeymoon. Written with humor and heat. I'm glad it had a glossary for Nixie's slang.

I received a complimentary copy from Amazon. That did not change my opinion for this review.

Mind Mates by Mary Hughes
Mind Mates (Pull of the Moon Book 2) - Mary Hughes,Christa Soule

Mind Mates is the second book in the Pull of the Moon series, although I haven't read book one. As such, it was easy to follow this story as it mainly focused on Gabriel and Emma, although Noah and Sophia from book one do play an integral part of this story.

Emma is in love with her boss, Gabriel, but doesn't think he is anything apart from human. As a wizard prince, Gabriel has numerous talismans in play to stop Emma from realising how he feels. As Sophia's brother, he knows what will happen if the Council find out and tries to stop that from happening. Of course, fate will not be denied and through a series of events, Emma finds out everything about Gabriel and also learns more about herself.

With some amazing characters, a solid storyline, and humour and action on every page, this was a delight to read. I would like to read book one, Heart Mates, if only to know more about Noah and Sophia, but also to get more groundwork into this wonderful world that Mary Hughes has dreamt up. Definitely recommended by me and I look forward to more from her.

*I received a copy of this book from Barclay Publicity in exchange for a fair and honest review.*
