I was really looking forward to this book, as I liked the first book a lot.

This book started out pretty good and strong but at the 30-40% mark it just went downhill and had a hard time ti recover from that.

One I thought as we leaping Chicago we get a little more action on the road and we do get some, but we also get some long and a bit boring politics. Some parts are just a bit too drawn out. We do leanr a bit more about the pack and not only the ones we know but also some elders and rules from other packs, which was sort of interesting and I liked that part.

We also meet some new people and I must say Alexei, is one of my new favs ….. So far. Of course we see some familiar faces and its aslways good to see Ethan and Mer again, and see little has changed with them lol .

I really like Connor and Elisa, I like them even more. Of course we get some pretty funny banter between them which I loved … for the most part. Except there were a few times I was annoyed how they had to call or point out that one is a vampire and one is a wolf…… that happened way to many times for my liking and got old. Though I have to say that I like Connor more than I ever liked Ethan. I did not start liking Ethan till the end of the series lol .

I don’t want to spoil anything so I just be very vague but some things happened in the book , that got handled not every well for me, that just sort of ruined a lot of it .

Overall. It started out good, then things got wonky and never really recovered. I most likely will still pick up the next book in the series to see how things turn out. But this book was just okay for me and could have been a bit better.

DNFed at 50%

I was super excited when I received this book from Netgalley, sadly this book was not for me. I normally really like her books and her retellings but this was just fell short for me. It just didn’t hold my interest at all and I finally DNFed it at around 50%. For one it just felt like the story or Guinevere, who by the way bot really Guinevere (not a spoiler it states it right in the beginning) ll over the place, we bounce around a lot in the story.  It also was a bit on the slow site and it felt like never ending.

I also had a hard time connecting with the characters, Arthur who was not there a lot but mentioned and talked about I liked but again it was hard for me to connect to him if he is hardly there. Guinevere seemed lost herself and all over the place with no real direction so I had a even harder time to connect to her.

Of course there were another people but most just were meh….. I had some thoughts about what is about to come and will be a plot twist so I asked a friend who read it all how it ends and such. But I was not surprised and basically everything I thought would happen did happen.

Overall, meh book for me. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn’t get into it this time around. I’m sure there will be plenty of people who will love it.

I absolutely loved this book, and I don’t even like football. That being said, please give this book a try even if you normally not a sports fan.

I have been a Cindi Madsen fan for a while and she is one of my go to authors. I honestly think she can write a book about golf or the weather and it be super fun and cute to read.

I loved that all her books have some kind of pop culture reference and are fun and funny. You always get laugh out loud moments, but also heartwarming and honest issues in one book. I also like that she has some  very relatable characters no matter what the book or theme.

This is no different in this case….

When we very first meet Lance, you get the idea that he is another typical asshole alpha male, but as soon we get his POV for the first time it is clear that that is not the thing, He is funny and loving, and above all a loyal family dude. Of course it doesn’t hurt that he is drool worthy. But of course he has his asshole moments too, so don’t worry . Overall I really, really liked Lance.

Charlotte, she seemed a bit stiff and all her rule following was a bit much …… at first. But then we get to see the real Charlotte and I loved her. We learn more about her and loved discovering along with Lance why she is the way she is.

Overall I really loved this book and didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to see who will be next and hopefully we will see more of Charlotte and Lance in future books, because they are beyond adorable.

If you are a fan of contemporary romance, this is a must read book. Also check out any of her other books and I promise you will fall in love with them.
