Wicked Secret

(Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #8)

Sawyer Bennett

Release Date: May 26, 2020

Synopsis:

Those that truly know August Greenfi eld, will tell you that I live my life to the fullest. Work hard as part of the team at Jameson Force Security but play just as hard at The Wicked Horse Vegas. I have no regrets about my life. Well, maybe just one. Leighton Hale was my first love and the woman I wanted to spend my life with, but one day she was just gone. Vanished without a trace. Even my extensive contacts as part of the team at Jameson left me empty - handed in my search for answers. My single remorse is never being able to find out what happened to her, because no matter how difficult the truth may be, it can’t be as bad as never knowing at all. Ten years later, a knock on my front door brings me face - to - face with the woman I thought I’d never see again and nothing in my life could have prepared me for the secrets she holds.

Wicked Secret (Wicked Horse Vegas, #7)Wicked Secret by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is #8, in the Wicked Horse Vegas series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.

August is happy being a hedonist. He enjoys women, and sex and is not ashamed of his hobbies. Then a surprise blast from the past blows him away with a visit.

Leighton is someone who knew August in his past. They were supposed to have a future that was ripped away. Can he and Jameson Force Security help when it is lives on the line?

This story had so much to it. It was nice to connect the series that I love to read. I was happy with the references to the other books. The characters felt disconnected to me somehow. I had a hard time placing the story with the people I was reading about. It is still a good read, but not the kind I am used to from this author.

Audio Review: Wicked Angel (Wicked Horse Vegas Book 6) by: Sawyer Bennett (author) Lance Greenfield (narrator) Kirsten Leigh (narrator)
Wicked Angel (Wicked Horse Vegas Book 6) - Lance Greenfield,Sawyer Bennett,Kirsten Leigh

Anyone who reads a Sawyer Bennett novel doesn't do so for the beautiful words or the flighty happily ever after. Wicked Angel takes a detour into darkness that is as pure as it is tragic. Elena and Benjamin want to feel complete after heartbreak has ripped their lives to shreds. Pain is the answer to a prayer, even as love sneaks into the equation. Though not always likeable, Benjamin is an understandably, empathetic character. His despair left my heart bleeding and my soul breathless. Elena was more of a paradox. Not easy to figure out, but intriguing to get to know. Narrated by Greenfield and Leigh, Ben and Elena are a taste of real life. Bennett turns heartache in a sensuously, unpredictable wake-up call.

Release Day - Wicked Angel

Wicked Angel (Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #6) Sawyer Bennett Release Date: August 6, 2019

Synopsis:

First there was pain, and now there is just… nothing. No one can ever understand the losses I’ve suffered. A solitary existence that consists of my work and the empty house that serves as a constant reminder of all I have lost. After months of paralyzing emptiness, I turn to The Wicked Horse so I can feel something. Anything, really. Any shred of emotion that will explain why I’m still here. Any justification for why my life was spared and theirs were not. It’s all in vain. Not even the debauchery of the notorious sex club can fill the hollowness that consumes me. Until she walks in. Absolutely perfect. Gorgeous and bends to my will. Gives me her body willingly, while expecting nothing more from me than the pleasure I offer her. And the more she gives, the more I find myself wanting to take. Wanting to crawl out of my personal hell for this wicked angel.

Wicked Choice - Sawyer Bennett

Rachel Hart is a bad a$$ mercenary with the Jameson Group. She has never wanted to be that female who settles down and raises a family, but rather the carefree adrenaline junkie looking for her next fun time. After Rachel barely escapes from a life and death mission with her co-worker Bodie Wright, Rachel's emotions are running high, along with a buzz she has from the four shots of bourbon she drank. When Bodie comes to check on Rachel in her hotel room, things quickly from a professional relationship to a lust filled one. What neither of them expected was that this hook up would 1.) knock their socks off and 2.) end up in a pregnancy that neither of them wanted at this point in their lives. After some long discussions, Rachel agrees to carry the baby, but wants nothing to do with raising it. Bodie has decided that he wants this baby and will raise it on his own, but secretly hopes that by the time the baby is born, Rachel will change her mind. In the meantime, they both agree to keep a physical relationship and since they both love their memberships at The Wicked Horse Vegas, it starts to make things more intense. As Rachel and Bodie start to spend more time together, Rachel starts to rethink all the things in her life that she always thought that she wanted and Bodie starts to think he may have just found all the things he has wanted in his life. I really enjoyed Rachel and Bodie. Rachel was such a strong willed female and because of her past, she was very closed up. Bodie on the other hand was such an open and loving guy. Together these two made such a great pair and I really loved the road these two took to get to their happy ending. I'm also excited to see that there will be more books in this series as well as a new spin off series!

Wicked Envy (The Wicked Horse Vegas) (Volume 3) - Sawyer Bennett

Avril, Dane and Andrew have been best friends since their college days and now they all work at Caterva BioTech, a company that Dane started.  Avril finds her boyfriend of three years in their bed with some other woman and kicks him out of their home.  Beyond pissed, Avril decides that she wants to have a little fun in her life and asks Dane to take her to The Wicked Horse Vegas as his guest because she is ready to explore a few things.  Dane has always had a crush on Avril but has always kept things in the friend department, but against his better judgement he takes her there, along with Andrew.  After one night, Avril is addicted and wants to go back.  Not so much Andrew.  Dane and Avril start spending a lot of time together at the Wicked Horse Vegas and things progress quickly.  Avril wants Andrew more in her life and the next things you know, they are all three together!  It takes a lot of soul searching, but the three of them eventually figure out a way to make them all happy.

I just loved Dane....such a great alpha with a little bit of a sad childhood thrown in.  He really has done well for himself.  Andrew is just the perfect, sweet guy that everyone wants to be friends with.  Avril is very strong and determined when it comes to business but in her personal life she was more wishy washy.  It took a cheating boyfriend to turn her into the true woman she was meant to be!

Overall, this was a fun, sexy read that I couldn't put down and another great addition to such a fun series!
