Hard to put down, great story
The Marine's Red Hot Homecoming - Christine Glover

This story is the first I have read by Christine Glover, and it kept me turning pages. Hannah's strength to raise a child alone, build her own business, and still find away to love Caleb were the reasons. When Caleb finally realized what he was losing, I had tears of joy that all was not lost. I found the storytelling engrossing and look forward to reading more from this author.

This is my unsolicited review and I highly recommend it.

About the books in the HEARTBREAKERS AND HEROES Box Set

HIDING WITH THE HEARTBREAKER by USA Today bestseller Virginia Nelson

Rule: Protect the innocent.

Making people laugh for a living is easy, but when a beautiful stranger needs Aloysius Sutton’s help, he has to find a way to become Jude’s hero.

He would swear he didn’t think about kissing her before he did it. One second, he reveled in the way the light glinted off her eyes, the next he took her lips with his own. He might have been able to pull back, too, if she hadn’t released this delicious little moan from the back of her throat. The sound drove him to slant his lips over hers fully, sampling and teasing at her mouth with all the repressed attraction he’d bottled up since he’d met her. Her fingers dug into his scalp, altering the angle in a way which deepened their kiss. He gripped the fence on either side of her to resist pulling her closer, but he didn’t have to since she melded herself against his body.

HOW TO UNBREAK A HEART by USA Today bestseller Jennie Marts

Rule: If you love her, don’t let her go.

Solitary cowboy, Trip Turner finally has a chance to correct the mistakes he made when he let the woman he loved walk out of his life twelve years ago. But now that Bre Wilson is back, will he be able to unbreak her heart?

Oh Lord, what was he thinking? What was he doing?

His mind was racing, shouting at him to pull back, but he couldn’t.

Couldn’t help himself. The pull was too strong.

He moved closer, dipped his head, his lips barely brushing hers. She inhaled the softest gasp, her breath catching in the middle, and it was the sexiest sound he’d ever heard.

He didn’t think, didn’t rationalize what a dumb idea this was.

His heart and his need were speaking louder than his head as he leaned down and kissed her.

HER HEARTBREAKER BOSS by Carmen Falcone

She’d thought her life had been tied up in a nice, neat bow when she’d gotten married to Charlie. How wrong had she been? When her marriage started to crumble, her ex took up fantasy football. Yeah right. She found out the hard way that the only fantasy Charlie participated in involved the next door neighbor and a skanky French maid costume.

HOW TO BE A HEARTBREAKER by Codi Gary

Rule: A real man never kisses and tells.

When an A list actor returns to his hometown, old wounds and fresh gossip emerge... along with a second chance at love, if he’s brave enough to stick around.

Bash was shocked as hell when Ashlynn pulled back enough to take off her sweatshirt and t-shirt, leaving her in just a simple white sports bra. “Okay. Explore me.”

REFORMING THE HEARTBREAKER by Christine Glover

Rule: A real man never breaks a woman’s heart.

Can Olympic mountain bike champion Ryder Bennett and his public relations rep Addison Carrington keep things professional between them this time around, or will they risk a sexy scandal for a chance at love?

Addison,” he said, cupping her bottom and rolling them until he hovered over her. “You’re so sweet. So, so sweet.”

I don’t want to be sweet.” She arched her back and pressed her full breasts against his chest. “I want to be bad. Really, really bad.”

Then you’re in luck because I’m the poster boy for bad.”

HER UNWANTED HERO by Veronica Forand

Rule: A real man always helps someone in need... he may be the only one who does.

A disenchanted police officer must choose between keeping a woman’s affection or keeping her alive.

I’m at the pathetically-in-love stage.”

Wow. That’s very in love.” She tempered her smile. “Have you ever thought about what you’d sacrifice for her?”

He laughed. “What kind of answer are you expecting? That I’d climb the highest mountain, swim the biggest sea?”

Think back … John’s rules.”

The one warning us against dating your best friend’s sister?”

She rolled her eyes as though a teenager again. “Not quite. The one about how a real man always helps someone in need, especially when they can’t help themselves. You’re a man now, right?”

He threw up his hands. Rules were easier to say than live by. “I tried to help her. She doesn’t want it.”

I guess then the question is what you’re willing to sacrifice in order to keep her safe?”

ONCE A HEARTBREAKER by T.J. Kline

Rule: A real man never lies, especially to a woman.

Ty Preston ran out on the woman he loved twelve years ago, but now he's back to prove he's a changed man. However, Rayne can't risk getting her heart broken by the cowboy again.

Her heart took a nose-dive into her stomach as goosebumps broke out over her arms again. She wanted to pull her hand away from his but couldn’t seem to get her body to cooperate with her mind. Ty lifted his hand to her face, brushing back a piece of hair that had fallen from her practical ponytail, letting his thumb trail over the edge of her jaw.

Damn this man and the way her body still responded to him.

You don't even know if I’m actually any good.” What was supposed to be a protest came out as a feathery whisper of sound, husky and far more sexy sounding than she meant for it to.

I know exactly how good you are, Rayne.”

MAKE MINE A HEARTBREAKER by Jodi Linton

Rule: Love should always be fun.

She’s about to change this playboy’s rule book.

If you didn’t know by now that tangling yourself in a man’s arms might get you kissed, you should. I also think you should know that I’m not good at being tested. Normally I fail and give into my urges. Like me wanting to kiss you, now.”

HOMETOWN HEARTBREAKER by Heather Long

Rule: A real man always puts his best foot forward…

Zeke always planned to steal her heart, but she left him on base. It’s the bottom of the ninth, and Charity is up to bat. Can she tell her two-all stars the truth or will a foul end her best chance?

He traced the line of her lips as she took several deep gulps of air. “If you keep touching me that way,” her breath tickled his fingertips. “It’ll be hard to think about anything.”

Not sure whether you want me to stop or want me to kiss you.” Really shouldn’t have gone there. They weren’t ready for that.

He wasn’t.

She opened those sweet brown eyes, the pupils so large he imagined he could drown in them. Wanted to dive in and never leave. They weren’t there. Hell, he’d barely had her back in his life for twenty-four hours, and all he wanted to do was turn everything upside down.

A real man always puts his best foot forward. He knows when it’s time to act. When to take the step he’s been waiting to take…listen to your gut, Zeke. Listen. It knows, even when your heart and your mind are at war.

His mind said think it through. His heart wanted to jump. His gut needed a plan.

How can you still look at me like that?”

What a stupid question. “Because I still love you.”

TUTORING THE HEARTBREAKER TO LOVE by Hayson Manning

Rule: A real man never touches the hired help.

Can Savannah teach serial heartbreaker Walker to be domesticated in ten days and convince him that maybe they can have a shot at a ‘them’ or can Walker convince Savannah there can be a ‘them’ on his terms only?

One more thing if you’re up for it,” Savannah pulled on the hem of her shirt.

I’ll be up for it, baby.” Walker grinned.

I’ll teach you to be domesticated if you’ll teach me to be wild.”

His jaw went slack.

Had he died and gone to heaven?

The Movie Star's Red Hot Holiday Fling (Sweetbriar Springs) by Christine Glover
The Movie Star's Red Hot Holiday Fling: A novella (Entangled Indulgence) (Sweetbriar Springs) - Christine Glover

This was an amazing and heart touching story.  Jessie is a veteran that has been discharged after a bomb blew up and injured her leg.  Yes, HER leg.  The veteran is a female and I loved how the story really took her perspective and brought it to life for me.  She was such an intense character and had a drive to prove that she still had value.  Blake had some very similar characteristics, but they were shown in a different way.  He was determined to show the world that he was more than just another pretty face.  But in the process he helps - and hurts - the woman he has grown to care for.

A lot of this story was about the two of them coming to grips with their past and figuring out where to go with their future.  My favorite part was watching Jessie really come into her own again.  Her journey back to herself was not fun, but in the end it was worth it - at least until she found out Blake's secret.  How they work that out, I'll leave for you to find out.  This is one you won't want to miss.

Oh, and as a bonus, it could be called a Christmas read.  While the season doesn't play a huge roll in the story, it does happen over Christmas.

The Maverick's Red Hot Reunion (Sweetbriar Springs) by Christine Glover
The Maverick's Red Hot Reunion - Christine Glover

This book made me cry - several times. It takes a lot for a book to do that to me. It was a good cry, an emotional cry, and I felt better when I was done. Zach and Kennedy took me such an emotional roller coaster that I was exhausted at the end of the story. It was almost too much. Their history was full of so much pain for them to overcome that I still don't know how they managed to do it.

Kennedy is a tough as as nails construction worker that has taken over her father's company. She's more at home in boots and jeans checking out a roof than anything else. She has built up a wall around her heart after tragedy struck years ago, and she is determined to never let anyone in. Zach wants to break down those walls, he just doesn't quite understand why they are there to begin with.

A lot of Zach and Kennedy's problems are because neither of them is completely honest with the other. Their relationship is full of misunderstanding and pretending. The truth is too hard for either of them to deal with at first. It was an amazing story that is full of real life issues as two amazing people have to try and wade through them to find each other again.
