Review: Not My Match (The Game Changers #2) by: Ilsa Madden-Mills
Not My Match (The Game Changers #2) - Ilsa Madden-Mills

Not My Match by Ilsa Madden-Mills

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No good deed goes unpunished when dealing with matters of the heart. Giselle and Devon are the type of beautiful that drives emotions crazy. Mills gives the heart a reason to feel. The mind something to ponder and the senses a reason to burn. Not My Match is the purest form of breathless, beautiful, crazy heartache.

Sultry
Not My Romeo - Ilsa Madden-Mills

Elena is not sure what to do when meeting her blind date on Valentine's Day.  He is sitting alone in a corner, and he is hotter than she had anticipated.  If she does not go through with it, however, her family will only make her more miserable.

Jack is sick of everyone talking about him.  Life has already been hard up to this point.  Making eyes at a sexy librarian for one dinner won't hurt.  Then when he gets to know her, will he be able to let her go?

This was such a sexy look into such a wasted holiday. I found myself laughing, crying, and unable to put the story down.  Such a sultry atmosphere with the sparks so loud between the main characters I almost didn't hear what they said!  Really good read.  Cannot wait for the next installment of The Game Changers series.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

I Dare You
I Dare You - Ilsa Madden-Mills I Dare You - Ilsa Madden-Mills

Pros about I Dare You:
  • About a football player who ISN'T a quarterback! Hooray!
  • While Mav had some player tendencies and had certainly hooked up a lot, he was totally focused on Delaney once she was single. His devotion is such a nice change from the typically college/NA romances where the guy is a douche for a while!
  • His devotion to his sister is amazing. Caring for someone with TBI is incredibly difficult yet Mav does it flawlessly.
  • Delaney is a 'nerd girl' and the book is filled with references to Star Wars and The Princess Bride!
  • Sweet romance where most of the angst doesn't come from the push/pull type relationship between the Hero and Heroine.
  • Well written character with a disability! Raven has TBI and Madden-Mills makes her well rounded and more than her disability!

Cons for I Dare You:
  • Its fairly predictable

Bottom line? I really enjoyed I Dare You! Its sweet romance with low angst, nerd girl humor, and a guy who loves his sister! What more could you want?
  • POV: dual 1st
  • Tears: no
  • Trope: football, college
  • Triggers: none
  • Series/Standalone: standalone
  • Cliffhanger: no
  • HEA: yes with epilogue

If you liked The Off Campus series from Elle Kennedy, The Game on Series from Kristen Callihan, The Ivy Years by Sarina Bowen...then you will probably like I Dare You!

Simple love story
The Last Guy - Ilsa Madden-Mills,Tia Lou... The Last Guy - Ilsa Madden-Mills,Tia Louise

with a hero that's way too good to be true.

Rebecca is ok as the female lead, but having a drag queen room mate is not enough to make you an interesting person. The mini-drama/jealousy/misunderstanding part should have been left out.

And for the record: no professional TV reporter would ever trust animals or small children in a live TV piece...

Not as good as the first one...
Filthy English - Ilsa Madden-Mills

Filthy English - Ilsa Madden-Mills

More like *3.5 STARS* rounded up.

I didn't like this one quite as much as I liked the first one.  There was so much angst and misunderstanding in this one, I didn't really feel like I got to fall in love with these two as a couple.

And for so much of the book, Dax was acting like a couple tool, and Remi was being TSTL.  So, I just didn't even know if I wanted them together.

Then, the end redeemed the whole thing for me.  The last 25% of the book made up for the struggle I had with the first 75.

I had this one on kindle unlimited and did whispersync.  I didn't like the way the male narrator did the female voices.  I thought that the female narrator did all the voices very well and wished that she had just narrated the whole book without it switching back and forth.  The male narrator in the first book did a much better job.
