Boyfriend Material - Alexis Hall

Luc is working for a charity who does not appreciate seeing his mistakes in the gossip rags.  While he does try his best, his semi-famous father is trying to make a comeback that is putting him in the sort of spotlight.  His friends and co-workers think he should try to date someone respectable and fix his good name.

Oliver has always been interested in Luc.  This chance to get to know him, and play his significant other is not one he could pass up.  Knowing it won't be easy they agree and get on with their lives.  Then the hard part happens......

I liked that this story told the truth.  Each characters felt real, open, dark, and rich at the same time.  I also loved the friendships, and I cringed at the families who made them hurt.  I also really liked the banter and sexy heat.  I give this read a 3/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

One Night Stand-In (Boyfriend Material #3) by: Lauren Blakely
One Night Stand-In (Boyfriend Material #3) - Lauren Blakely

A dash of charm goes a long way in tempting the heart. Blakely knows how to ignite the senses. One Night Stand-in is a little bit naughty a whole lot of funny and even manages to squeeze in a smidge of heartwarming. Lola and Lucas have to face an unfinished past, if they ever hope to have a chance at a future. What seems like an uphill battle becomes a road map to forever with a few curveballs thrown in along the way. Blakely makes every moment count. That's what makes her characters so irresistible.

Sex and Other Shiny Objects (Boyfriend Material Book 2) by: Lauren Blakely
Sex and Other Shiny Objects (Boyfriend Material Book 2) - Lauren Blakely

I love Lauren Blakely. She's not afraid to speak her mind with style, grace and a sense of humor. Sex and Other Shiny Objects takes on every stereotype associated with romance. Peyton and Tristan take hearts on a sensual tour through a crazy little thing called love. They frustrate, humor and tempt, but also delight us in every way. Emotions run deep, laughter runs wild and the fun never stops. Blakely and company give crazy in love a makeover and capture hearts everywhere.

Asking For a Friend (Boyfriend Material #1) by: Lauren Blakely
Asking For a Friend (Boyfriend Material #1) - Lauren Blakely

Love takes a backseat to humor. Amy and Linc set about making your heart smile as only Lauren Blakely can. From their flirty first meeting to their cluelessly awkward courtship, Asking for a Friend keeps things light. Linc is perfect book boyfriend material in a slightly nerdy sort of way. Amy is a hint of what every woman should be. She embraces her awkwardness with confidence. She's not afraid to let her insecurities shine. Blakely tempts readers with a less than perfect romance that gives the heart a break. With sweet characters and unforgettable storytelling, heaven is only one click away.

Ex-Boyfriend Material by Sean Ashcroft Review
Ex-Boyfriend Material - Sean Ashcroft

Alex is smart, charming, and attractive. Good at approaching people and getting them to sleep with him, his talents fall down when it comes to maintaining a relationship. His last boyfriend left him with a broken heart and without half the rent, so now he needs a new roommate. This time, he wants someone mature, sensible, and not even a little bit attractive to him.

What he gets is Liam--funny, gorgeous, and surprisingly put-together for a man who doesn’t own a single shirt without a stain on it and has an incurable oral fixation.

After months of feeling as though he can never move on while he lives in London, America is Liam’s fresh start. His breakup with his girlfriend left him heartbroken, and home only reminds him of everything he’s lost. With a twelve-month contract on offer, the chance to take a break is too good to pass up. All he needs now is a roommate, since his company-organised apartment has fallen through.

He runs across Alex’s Craigslist posting and thinks the other man seems perfect--little does he know that his new roommate is also nursing a broken heart, and coping with it by sleeping his way through the entire population of New York.

Both of them know the dangers of getting into a relationship with their roommates. Alex spent months stuck in a relationship that made him increasingly unhappy, Liam had to move away from his home to give himself a chance to heal.

They seem to soften each other’s rough edges, fill the gaps in each other’s lives. But love is risky, and their hearts are fragile--can they learn to trust one another and take the chance to have a home in each other’s arms? Or will their pasts and their fears get in the way of their happiness?

Review

This is a slow burn romance with one demisexual hero and one introvert hero with self esteem issues.

It is slow going and there is a nice exploration of demisexuality as well as bisexuality.

The heroes become roommates, then friends and then finally lovers.

I would have liked to spend more time with them as lovers and see them bloom a little more but it was an enjoyable read.
