This is a Batman who has all the memories and skills of Batman, but is also the Joker. It's a whole huge thing that I'm like "I don't know" because I haven't read Metal, but I also wanted to read this on a whim and I saw it and I picked it up.
Which was an excellent choice. Good on me. This was an excellent book.
It's fun, it's a little gruesome and it's full of surprises. I absolutely am going to continue with this series.
Tasks for Hanukkah: Light nine candles around the room (SAFELY) and post a picture. –OR– Play the Dreidel game to pick the next book you read.
Assign a book from your TBR to each of the four sides of the dreidel:
נ (Nun)
ג (Gimel)
ה (He)
ש (Shin)
Spin a virtual dreidel: http://www.torahtots.com/holidays/chanuka/dreidel.htm
– then tell us which book the dreidel picked.
OK, here we go:
נ (Nun) = James D. Doss: The Shaman Laughs
ג (Gimel) = Michael Jecks: The Devil's Acolyte
ה (He) = Kazuo Ishiguro: An Artist of the Floating World
ש (Shin) = John-Henri Holmberg (ed.): A Darker Shade
Alright -- Ishiguro it is. And this will also give me my book themes for St. Martin’s Day (square 3): Read a book set on a vineyard, or in a rural setting, –OR– a story where the MC searches for/gets a new job. –OR– A book with a lantern on the cover, or books set before the age of electricity. –OR– A story dealing with an act of selfless generosity (like St. Martin sharing his cloak with a beggar).
Inspector Hobbes and the Bones by Wilkie Martin is an intriguing cozy mystery with comedic overtones.
Because of a tree falling on his apartment, Andy Caplet needs to move back in with Inspector Hobbes and Mrs. Goodfellow. His wife as gone on an archaeological dig. In her absence, Andy goes on many adventures with Dregs and Inspector Hobbes. I gave it five stars because it made me laugh out loud on several occasions.
I received a complimentary Kindle copy from The Witcherley Book Company and NetGalley. That did not change my opinion for this review.

Trailer Trash, With a Girl's Name by Stacey Roberts is a supposedly humorous biography. I wanted to like it. I tried several times to read it. I just couldn't finish it. I gave it two stars.
I received a complimentary Kindle copy from Sons of Joy and NetGalley. That did not change my opinion for this review.
