Hello, Readers! Today I am sharing the 1st book in the paranormal romance Demon's Witch series by Tena Stetler! Enjoy and don't forget to add A Demon's Witch to your shelves!

Keeping a lid on all the paranormal beings inhabiting Washington D.C. is a daunting job. Bruce, a six hundred year old demon and the Territory Overlord of the Western Hemisphere, keeps his finger on the pulse of DC’s power players through the activities at his highly successful Wycked Hair Salon. His movie star good looks and body builder physique keeps his dance card full and the rumor mills running. Within these walls, his anonymity is safe, mostly.

Bruce’'s world spins out of control when Angelique, a pint size, gorgeous witch, with an attitude breezes through the doors of his salon. She is the younger sister of Tristian, Bruce’'s long time trusted enforcer, whose professional skills are second to none. Tristian is furious at the relationship between Bruce and Angelique, a dangerous situation. The undeniable attraction between demon and witch promises to tear apart both their professional and personal worlds.

Bruce is a six hundred year old demon and he is the Territory Overlord for the Western Hemisphere. Angelique is a pint size, gorgeous witch with a saucy attitude who sends Bruce’s world spinning out of control as if keeping a lid on all the paranormal beings inhabiting Washington D.C. isn’t daunting enough. Bruce and Angelique are strong, vibrant characters that demand the readers pay attention and the chemistry between has sparks flying in every direction. The passion between burns hot which makes things real interesting when they butt heads on whether or not they should pursue the attraction. Things between this couple is further complicated by the fact that Angelique’s brother, Tristian, is Bruce’s long time trusted enforcer which adds to the emotional turmoil and quite a bit of excitement to the story. On a side benefit, this story also has a relationship brewing between Angelique’s best friend and another paranormal (sorry have to leave you in suspense on that one) which adds some intrigue and romance to the story.

The story is fast paced and full of suspense and danger as the attraction between Bruce and Angelique threatens to destroy both their professional and personal worlds. In addition, the story has some deadly and magical events taking place when bad guys try to exact some revenge against Bruce and Tristian. The author has created a fascinating paranormal world with an abundance of wonderfully intriguing characters that ensure that readers want more.

CROWN OF THUNDER BY: KARISSA LAUREL
Crown of Thunder - Karissa Laurel

While I'm saddened to see this fantastical adventure come to an end, what a way to go! Crown of Thunder gives us the end of a magical journey, but also a hopeful beginning of sorts that is just as important.

One of the things I found most enchanting about this addition might not be what you would expect. Can we please take a minute to talk about the storyline between Evie and Jackie Faercourt? I never in a million years could have envisioned their inevitable culmination to play out the way it did. Absolutely brilliant! I'm at war with myself a little where this is concerned because the ultimate reconciliation was EPIC, but there's also a part of me that really would have LOVED even more Jackie. That's really a testament to just how well written a character he was and also how he surprisingly added more depth to Evie as well. I was not prepared for him to rise to these all new heights in this book. I thought I knew him. I thought I knew how things would go when their paths crossed again. I thought wrong. At one point I thought PLEASE LET THIS BE A SET UP FOR A SPINOFF ANTIHERO STORY. He ultimately became one of the most interesting characters to me, and although I do not see any antihero redemption stories in his future, the way that things played out was really quite perfect. Evie suddenly becomes all of us, confused by the warring emotions swirling around inside of her and unexpectedly battered by this sadness that was so unexpectedly powerful where Jackie is concerned.

I was so glad to see just how much Evie had grown as a person in this one. Her wild adventure to find her way back home took a young, sheltered, naive girl and helped shape her into a fierce, compassionate, prudent queen. She found herself out on the road, (air and sea too!) and she found her people and her purpose.

I also found that I enjoyed the few quiet moments, in between the chaos. The moments where she strolled with a friend and they reminisced on their childhoods and let themselves think of the homes they desperately missed in a way they haven't in so long. Or stolen moments with her heart's desire that even in a war they took the few moments to remind each other what else they were fighting for.

I just love this whole world, so full of magic and mayhem, so vibrant and full of the most colorful people. I would be enamored by any one of their tales, I'm sure of it! I'm sad to say goodbye to it, but a girl can always dream that maybe instead it is, until we meet again one day.

Find out what happens next in the second installment of the Djinn Rebellion Series from USA Today Bestselling Author, Jessica Cage!

All the wonderfully, strong and bold characters from the previous book is back along with some new ones and they have not pulled any punches as they discover that they have to embark on another rescue mission only there is a bit of problem…they have to convince Jinn to help. This emotionally gripping story is about Nitara whom the gang rescued from Daegal in the first book and who crushed Jinn’s heart, is in the clutches of the King of Reverie, the land of vampires. Readers can’t help but get caught up in all the intrigue, twists and thrills that take place throughout the story as everyone realizes that not everything is as it seems. The fast paced plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat as multiple plots takes place which guarantees that readers won’t find a dull moment, especially as enemies come from unexpected directions. The dialogue is witty and adds to the entertainment of this story immensely as all of the characters are once again fighting together. To add sweetness to the story, several of the characters are involved in romances or trying to at least and there is also some red hot passion to heat up the pages. But the relationship between Nitara and Jinn will tug at heart strings as Jinn tries not to let his broken heart get in the way of their mission. Once again the author has brought her story to vivid life that sparks the imagination and draws readers in and enthralls until the very end.

The city of Vilar was one of the most beautiful that existed. Surrounded by lands devastated by war, it retained a beauty that seemed alien. The fairies used their magic to retain the life of their home through the war. None of the toxic flames ever made it through their shields. Gone were the iron structures made by men, the buildings that scraped the sky had been torn down. Every building grew from the ground, having its own pulse as life still coursed through limbs of trees and magically reinforced vines that were woven together to craft structures of strength.

It wasn't just the buildings, or the few skyscrapers that stood tall and proud; it was the minor things, the plants and flowers lining every path. It was the wildlife that roamed the streets and lived in perfect harmony with the fairies. This was what the world imagined it would be like after the humans lost control. Only, Vilar was an anomaly in the new world order. A family of langur monkeys swung above him as his bike rolled along that pathway, the engine disturbing the tranquil atmosphere as he passed.

“Are you sure you want to go there?” Praia asked, joining him after he’d parked his bike. They walked down the street headed to Vilar, the epicenter of the fairies’ territory. Jinn had asked her to meet him so he could give her an update on everything that was happening. She knew it meant he needed to vent before doing something really stupid. Never one to say no to the man who conjured her steaks, she agreed. “Nothing good can come of this.”

“If they have the information I need, then yeah, I’m sure.” As usual, every person they passed by looked at them with questioning gazes. It was no secret that Praia was friends with Jinn, but it wasn’t often that they were seen together in public. Hell, it wasn’t often that Praia was seen amongst the fairies at all, and Jinn … well, he was nothing more than an apparition.

“What exactly are you willing to give them in return? These aren’t the same fairies you may remember, they’ve changed. You know that. Anything you have to request from them, they are going to want a trade, they’re going to want to bargain with you. You gotta think about that, Jinn.” The short fae struggled to keep up with his long strides, but succeeded in not falling behind.

“Yes, I’m well aware. I also know that they lied to me. In exchange for my help they were supposed to provide validation of what happened to Nitara. They were the ones who told me she had passed.” He marched forward as he spoke, his temper rising. “They were the ones who fed me false information! All these years, she has been out there and I haven’t been looking for her. She is trapped in a cage somewhere and I just allowed it! I held up my end of the bargain, it's time that they did.”

“I’m just saying, you may want to rethink things, sleep on it for a bit.” Praia skid to a halt as Jinn turned on her. They stood, statues on display for the fairies to gawk at.

“Look, Praia, I didn’t tell you about this so that you would feel a need to come with me. I understand if you don’t want to do this, but I need you to understand that I have to go in there. You can’t expect me to turn away from this. All this time, I thought she was gone, I thought she was dead. Now I find out that it was a lie.

Hell, I don’t even know if this photo is real.” He took the picture from his pocket, and held it up. “I need to do this. I have to find out, regardless of what fucked up fox trap I may be walking into right now. I have to know the truth.”

“Nitara, she meant that much to you?” Yeah, she knew about Nitara, but Jinn had never spoken to her in depth about his love for the woman, or how much he would put on the line to save her. Jinn would walk through fire for his wife, and for the first time he was really allowing the world to see what his love for her meant.

He turned back toward the path that led to the city’s center, pulled his hair up into a loose bun, and took a deep breath. How could he put it to words so the fae, who was still in many senses a young girl, could understand how he felt? His gaze swept over his shoulder to the short woman who waited for his explanation, the thoughts came as best he could phrase them. “She meant more to me than the earth, the sky, and the endless universe beyond. She was my world, my air, so much so that my lungs refused to expand without her. Every fiber of my being is hers to command. If there is any chance that I get to have that back, that I get to love her and feel her life beside me, fueling my own, there is no way that I’m going to let that go.”

“Wow, Jinn. I had no idea.” She smiled at him, tears on the brink of her eyes. “Well hell, I hope someone cares about me as much as you do for her. You know that I’m by your side.”

“As long as I keep you fed with steak.” He smiled and winked at his friend. He knew that she would support him, no matter how insane the cause. She always had.

“See, we have an understanding!” Her laughter trailed behind her as she hurried to keep up with him.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Review)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - J.K. Rowling

You guys, I have good news! There here is a Harry Potter book I actually liked! You were beginning to think it wasn’t going to happen, huh?

My string of short reviews isn’t over quite yet, since I finished this book more than a year ago. I have definitely learned my lesson that my reviews are next to worthless if they aren’t written within at least a month of finishing the book (unless I’ve taken extremely detailed notes, which I certainly didn’t do here). Considering I’ve been a few chapters into Order of the Phoenix for almost a year now, I might just reread this one to get back into the swing of things; if that’s the case, I’ll definitely write a more detailed review then!

This is where Rowling’s writing finally begins to mature and Harry starts to feel some genuine emotion. Goblet of Fire has always been my favorite of the Harry Potter films, and I’m incredibly relieved that I enjoyed the book. The overall plot of the series finally began to kick in, and it felt much less like a string of happy-go-lucky mysteries than the first three books. My biggest complaint with the series has been that I don’t love Rowling’s writing (still true) and I feel I have no emotional connection with Harry. While my feelings on the writing haven’t changed quite yet, I am ecstatic to see development from Harry, and I’m thrilled to know that whatever happens in the next book, at least I’ll finally see Harry actual feel something genuine and realistic. This book cracked him open so much more, and it’s nice to begin to feel excited again about reading these books, which I know contain stories I already love.

Overall: The more I think about it, the more I believe I should reread this book before diving into Order of the Phoenix again, just so I can get the excitement back again (and write a better review than this). I was told when I started the series that I should consider just skipping to Goblet of Fire, and boy, turns out they were right! I’m finally excited to be reading Harry Potter instead of wondering why I don’t just watch the movies instead.
