Icing on the Cake

by Ann Marie Walker

Publication Date: January 30, 2018

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Purchase: AmazonBarnes & NobleKoboiBooks

Notting Hill meets The Prince & Me in Icing on the Cake, the second standalone laugh-out-loud romance in Ann Marie Walker’s Wild Wedding series

Cassandra Miller doesn’t have time for men. She’s far too busy trying to open a cupcake shop with her silent partner and best friend, not to mention catering her brother’s wedding. And let’s face it, it’s not like Prince Charming is going to stroll into the bakery and sweep her off her feet.

Henry has been a prince his entire life but for one wild wedding he wants to be nothing more than an “Average Joe”, or in this instance, “Average Hank”. However, when a case of mistaken identity and a batch of burned cupcakes ends in a night of passion, Cassie and Hank must decide if theirs is a recipe for disaster or the makings of true romance.

Icing on the Cake (Wild Wedding, #2)Icing on the Cake by Ann Marie Walker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the Wild Wedding series. This book can be read as standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding of the series, I recommend reading in order.

Cassandra is busy trying to build a new life for herself. She is starting a new business, and really does not have time to date. Going to her brother's wedding gives her the chance to have a fling with a sexy someone.

Henry AKA "Hank" just wants to be a normal guy for the weekend. Just wants to enjoy hanging with his college friends without the paparazzi following him around. Then he meets this amazing woman he wants to spend time with.

I loved this story from the start. The banter wasn't the only thing zinging all over. The heat in this book was seriously turned up! Had a steady pace and characters that were so much fun to read.

 About Ann Marie Walker:

Ann Marie Walker writes steamy books about sexy boys. She’s a fan of fancy cocktails, anything chocolate, and 80s rom-coms. Her super power is connecting any situation to an episode of Friends and she thinks all coffee cups should be the size of a bowl. If it’s December she can be found watching Love Actually but the rest of the year you can find her at AnnMarieWalker.com where she would be happy to talk to you about alpha males, lemon drop martinis or supermodel David Gandy. Ann Marie attended the University of Notre Dame and currently lives in Chicago.

Swerve
Swerve - Vicki Pettersson

Kristine Rush and her fiancé, Daniel, are on their way from Las Vegas to Lake Arrowhead, California for the Fourth of July. Kristine isn't looking forward to spending time with Daniel's mother, but that's the least of her worries when Daniel is abducted from a desolate rest stop. Now Kristine must choose: return home safe and sound without Daniel or take orders from a killer that will send her on a trip through hell to find him.

This book was intense! The stellar writing and the amount of suspense made this book grip me from page one and didn't let me go until the very last page. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the author would surprise me. Kristine's situation was palpable (and definitely not enjoyable) I loved the setting. I loved Kristine's relationship with her daughter. And I loved this book!

Hot meat
Meat - Opal Carew

Rebecca meets Rex when she runs into him at the airport.  Things get hot very fast between them.  Then, the next time they see one another the sparks fly for multiple reasons.

Rex has secrets that he is hiding from everyone.  He has his reasons, but they make for lies and deception all the same.  Rebecca resents that he could not trust her.

Seriously HOT read!  Really sweet in many ways,  Totally unexpected but really liked it.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Book Spot!

Swerve - Sherilee Gray Swerve - Sherilee Gray GAH! this book is raw and dirty and oh so romantic. Hugh and Shay have both faced a hard life because of their parents. Shay though had an easier time thanks to her Grandmother but Hugh had to take the wrong path in life in order to survive. Just when he thought that his life was stable and back on the straight and narrow, his father's debts come back to haunt them, forcing him down the wrong path once again.

Shay has her own demons to contend with. But together they find solace and peace in each other's arms even if it's just a temporary reprieve. Feelings just complicate everything and messes with her judgement. Hugh is so not her type so she can't possibly feel anything for him except lust? Or can she allow herself to dream of a future with someone she knows nothing about.?
