Nil on Fire (Nil Series Book 3) - Lynne Matson

♪♫My Pick For Book Theme Song♫♪

SAVED (Charlie's Song) from LOST w Lyrics The Bangkok Five  --Yeah, that Charlie from the TV show Lost…because I loved that show and this book brings back my memories of loving that show.  Honestly, the mystery, the existential feelings it evokes, remind me so much of that show.♫

Although, I was more obsessed with Jack...

My Thoughts

This book took almost two weeks for me to finish, which wasn't entirely the books fault, it was mostly RL.  That being said, while I was reading this, I was constantly distracted, and it was mostly thoughts of life and existence and the ending of it.  Freaky thoughts that kind of spooked me, and it's essentially what made reading this such an arduous undertaking for me.

Overall, this is a fitting end to this series, despite my not liking the main character, Skye, as much as I did in the second book…she's was just...annoying, smackably so.  It's told from three POV's, which includes Skye, Rives and Nil…yeah the island has a voice.  At first I was annoyed by that, but eventually it makes sense why the Author did it this way.  There's a lot of new characters introduced in this book, and it's kind of hard to keep them all straight at first.  Although, I did especially like Molly and Davey...oh yeah, and Hafthor too.

Will I continue this series?  It turns out there is a another book, which is actually Skye's Uncle Scott's Journal.  It's also free on Amazon!

My Thoughts

Girl meets boy…girl has instant connection to boy…girl finds out she's something paranormal-ish, and boy is too.  Been there, done that. If you like that sort of read and don't mind some high schoolish antics (like…wtf was up with the impromptu ghost hunting they did?) then this story is a well written one.  It had it's funny moments, I'll give it that.  Unfortunately, it just isn't for me.  I think I'm over this kind of read.  Maybe, I should quit trying to make this genre work for me, but some of paranormal out there is doable for me.  Still trying to decide if I want to give her adult series (Charley Davidson) a try.  It seems to have more Mystery approach, so it might work.

All In: (The Naturals #3) - Jennifer Lynn Barnes

♪♫My Pick For Book Theme Song♫♪

Cold Water by Theory of a Deadman  --This song speaks of the dynamic between Cassie, Dean, Lia, Sloan and Michael, and how they are there for each other.  Holding each other up.  I picked the version of this song by TOAD over Justin Bieber & Co. because TOAD is one of my all time favorites, although it's a really crappy lyric video, if only I had the time to make my own.♫

This book rocked, it has this wonderful dynamic of five characters, who I feel like I come to know with each book.  I love how every little thing in each story is intertwined.  Each book, so far, gets more intense, more crazy and overall, it's just an amazing series.  I highly recommend!

*Bad Blood is out now, since 5/1/17 actually.  Apparently, I took a long time to post this review, probably that open house I've been trying to prepare for. Ugh! #sonotapartyplanner

Daughter of Deep Silence - Carrie Ryan

♪♫My Pick For Book Theme Song♫♪

Colors by Crossfade  --This one took me awhile…I thought maybe, Going Under by Evanescense, and All Around Me by Flyleaf, and they both fit for this book…I just really wanted something that conveyed how I felt about this story and Libby/Frances as a whole.

♫Can you feel it crush you does it seem to bring the worst in you out

There's no running away from these things that hold you down

Do they complicate you because they make you feel like this

of all the colors that you've shine this is surely not your best

Surely not the best colors that you shine♫

My Thoughts

The GOOD: This is so much like the TV show Revenge, in Revenge you have an Emily/Amanda girl and in this you have Libby/Frances girl.  In truth, the reasons for their revenge are completely different, it's the deceptions and the emotions that are similar.  The confusion of the two characters warring inside each other at once, felt very similar.  I liked this about it.  The narration was excellently done, Karissa Vacker made the listening experience pleasant and easily accomplished.

The BAD:  My first complaint is this seemed a little too convenient, like everything fell into place too easily, even when it tried to make it seem like things weren't going according to plan.   My second is the ending, it was rushed and I'm not sure I always knew what was happening.

OVERALL: a worthwhile read for me…and if you think you would like a YA young love take on Revenge, this could be perfect for you.

The Earth Dwellers (The Dwellers Saga) - David Estes

♪♫My Pick For Book Theme Song♫♪

Another One Bites The Dust by Queen  --Another series finished, I'm seriously on a roll with finishing series lately…so this song is for all of the series that I've conquered lately…also…because David Estes is not afraid to kill off key people and he literally slayed me with some throughout the series, especially one in particular from this very book…♫

My Thoughts

Can you imagine people living underground?  Like way underground…so far down, it takes a half hour to get to the surface.

Imagine a fake sun, a fake horizon, a fake moon, even fake stars…and then imagine never knowing anything different.

It's crazy to think about…the premise of this series is an intricately woven one.  7 books in total 3 from Dwellers saga, and 3 from the Country saga, all culminating in one final book…Earth Dwellers.  All the players (at least the ones he hasn't killed off) are here, but the book pov switches between only 4 of the main characters from other books: Sienna, Dazz, Adele and Tristan…even Perry makes an appearance.  Overall, a gripping, yet sweetly pleasing end to this total series.  There's so much more he (David Estes) could do with this world, though.  Oh…the possibilities…
