Andor and Lorraine are two solid, enthralling characters that easily draw you into their story but it’s their exciting relationship that keeps readers glued to the pages from the very beginning. The relationship is a bit rocky because of the situation and their differences which causes some emotional turmoil, but like all lifemate romances, the magnetic attraction sizzles from their core and refuses to be denied.

The story starts off with some intense, thrilling excitement and continues to keeps on the edge with lots of fast paced, explosive action and anticipation building thrills. This novel flows smoothly from page to the next while the hunters go up against vampires that have a diabolical plan and seem to have formed an army. Surprising twists and turns keeps the characters on their toes and defeating this enemy may just take more hunters than they have.

I was unable to put Andor and Lorraine’s story down until I had read every last word of this spectacular Carpathian story, the world just keeps getting more fascinating and the author continues to wow readers with her creative imagination and wonderful world building. I especially love the flying carousel that she brought to vivid life and how lifelike the characters and thrilling danger is while I suspended in her world.

Rhys and Merri are wonderfully strong characters that warm the heart and brings smiles to the reader’s face. The charming holiday setting and the magical world of the North Pole adds a fascination and appeal to the story while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot holds readers in thrall with the building anticipation as the readers await to discover if Merri and Rhys can makes this ‘fated mate’ business into a relationship, after all only Santa knows what the future will bring. The author spins such a wonderful tale with some imaginative and magical shifters that are unique in several aspects which adds to the attraction of the story although I do wish it was a bit longer because I wasn’t ready to leave the captivating world.

This mythological based story is fascinating and romantic with strong, compelling characters that easily draw readers in and refuse to let go. The romance of this story has quite a few obstacles in the way of the happily ever after, one of which is the fact that Brenna was sent to kill Erik in order to correct her mistake. This causes quite a bit of emotional confusion as they struggle to stay alive and fight their very magnetic attraction to each other and readers can’t help but become ensnared by their journey to their future. The romance is also on the sweet side as it is a first love for Victoria and because of what she is, she doesn’t have much understanding of what is happening between her and Erik which makes readers smile and even gives them a few chuckles.

The plot is steady paced and flows smoothly from beginning to end, although the battles do seem to move at a faster pace because they are so thrilling and really get readers’ adrenaline pumping. There is never a dull moment to be found as the intriguing story is full of intrigue and exciting twists and turns that keeps readers guessing during this well developed and mesmerizing world.

This captivating new world has a unique take on Norse Mythology, is full of Valkyries and soldiers, and captivating characters that ensure readers will come back for more.

Freyja spied into your heart and knew you wouldn't be able to do it. She knew even before you did.

It wasn't like she didn't know what a naked man looked like. Berserkers donned a scrap of bear fur as armor as they charged into battle, racing to a glorious death. Armored knights rode, encased in metal charging onto the battlefield. Soldiers from all times and places sat together in the Halls, fought every day and celebrated all night. She'd seen them all.

Including Erik, in the cage only a few hours ago, facing his opponent and going down to defeat wearing much the same as he had on now.

But this... this was different.

He wasn't perfect, far from it. Erik's chest was dotted with white puckered scars, some the size of nickels and others as short slashes. As he turned she saw his back and other, older marks showing previous battles. Yet it didn't seem to detract from the power coming off him in waves, the silent strength evident with every move, every shift of his body. The muscles were tight and well-defined, not an inch of fat on his frame.

He winced as he pressed a damp cloth to the mottled bruises over his left rib cage. Matty had focused in on that during the fight and it showed. The swollen cut over his eye had stopped bleeding and was already going down but it still warranted a cleaning and a fresh bandage.

She couldn't take her eyes off him. The toned muscles seemed to be calling to her urging her to soothe his distress with her touch, offer to take the pain away somehow. Images flashed through her mind of the couples she'd seen in the shadows of the Great Halls, lovers stealing away for some private time before the never-ending battles started at dawn.

Brenna clenched her fingers, digging her nails into the skin to stay still. A flash of heat between her legs shocked her and she pressed her knees together, cursing in silence.

What is this madness?

Passion and excitement explodes from the pages of this thrilling traditional vampire romance as Sofia and Ethan try to overcome some traditional issues regarding vampires and some not so traditional ones. The characters are strong and convincing as they draw readers into their story as Ethan has trouble accepting what he is and has lots of worries that go along with being turned into a “monster,” while Sofia has to wonder if being with Ethan is the best thing for her and her future. This has lots of emotional turmoil that readers can understand as well as keeping them glued to the pages as they wonder if this couple will reach a happily ever after or will their difference be more than they can handle.

The plot is steady to fast paced plot and keeps readers hanging on the edge of their seat with lots of thrilling suspense as Sofia and Ethan not try to move forward but a fight with an enemy that has set his sights on Sofia and the town of Morgan Creek. This enemy takes some elaborate measures to get what he wants most of which are deadly and brings unknown elements into the mix. Which gives readers as well as Ethan and Saintcrow, quite a few surprising twists to become caught up in.

The author is instigating some changes to the town of Morgan Creek and I have to wonder where she is taking this thrilling and mesmerizing series, especially since I can imagine several different paths she could take from here which could mean more wonderfully spine tingling vampire romances to come for readers. Note: While the story may be in the more traditional style of vampire romance, it is in no way boring and readers are easily smitten and charmed by the sexy vampires of Morgan Creek.
