Fighting for love, honor, and freedom on the galaxy's lawless outer rim...

When Earth space marine Harper Adams finds herself abducted by alien slavers off a space station, her life turns into a battle for survival. Dumped into an arena on a desert planet on the outer rim, she finds herself face to face with a big, tattooed alien gladiator...the champion of the Kor Magna Arena.

A former prince abandoned to the arena as a teen, Raiden Tiago has long ago earned his freedom. Now he rules the arena, but he doesn't fight for the glory, but instead for his own dark purpose--revenge against the Thraxian aliens who destroyed his planet. Then his existence is rocked by one small, fierce female fighter from an unknown planet called Earth.

Harper is determined to find a way home, but when she spots her best friend in the arena--a slave of the evil Thraxian aliens--she'll do anything to save her friend...even join forces with the tough, alpha male who sets her body on fire. But as Harper and Raiden step foot onto the blood-soaked sands of the arena, Harper worries that Raiden has his own dangerous agenda...

Note to readers: This sci fi romance contains a lot of action (think wild gladiatorial fights and daring rescues), tough gladiators (the warriors of the House of Galen) and a steamy romance (between a fierce space marine and a gritty, alpha male gladiator). So if you like it fast, and gritty, and sexy, this is for you!

Goodreads

"Again, no fear in her. This woman had been kidnapped, torn from her planet, torn from her side of the galaxy, and tossed into terrible circumstances. Damned if it didn’t make Raiden respect her. - 29% Gladiator"

Gladiator is book one in the Galactic Gladiators series by Anna Hackett.

Hackett is an amazing science fiction romance author. I feel in love with this series and devoured it one book after another. Gladiator surprised and captivated me.

House of Galen is the home of the biggest and baddest gladiators.

Harper is kick-ass heroine. A force to be reckoned with. Her ship is attacked and she finds herself in-slaved to a cruel race and she is soon thrown into the gladiator arena where she rises to the top; gaining the attention of the reining champion of the House of Galen, Raiden.

Raiden is the reining champion of the arena. He’s alpha, demanding, and bad ass. I liked him and his alpha-ness. He soon finds himself captivated by this small human who can fight and survive in the arena and learns fast that he likes having her close in and off the arena field.

Their romance was a lot of fun. It worked. Both had to learn to give and take, to be partners together, and that they both needed something in life and that something was found in each other. I enjoyed the idea of a big tough gladiator being struck almost dumb by the much smaller women. It’s an appealing storyline.

Gladiator is a slow start, but once we get on the Gladiator plant things pick up and move fast. House of Galen isn’t what it seams and we learn that they are trying to help those that don’t belong in the arena. As things move along and start to ramp up in the story we get loads of action, fight scenes, and romance. The author takes her time introducing the characters, world, and what is to come. I loved meeting all the Gladiators of House of Galen and some of the other houses.

Gladiator is a fabulous start to the series. I was mesmerized and couldn’t stop reading.

Aran: Love me Harder - Alien Paranormal Romance - Serena Simpson,Lori Merlotti
Okay I have to be fair and give this one at least a 3.5* rating..

I liked the premise. I thought it was interesting. I liked the chemistry between the MC's always a good thing. And I liked how you got a glimpse of all of Aran's brothers. Very different males on appearance and personality. Does make you want to come back to see them all in their own story.

What I didn't like was that the "Beast" within that makes Aran and his family different, wasn't visited upon as much as I feel the story warranted. You just got VERY brief cameos with it. 4 to be exact. Out of the whole novel. If this beast is a big part of Aran's make up, and it is a paranormal story, then we need to see more of it. Details and situations where it's needed to make its presence known. Didn't get nearly enough of that here. Disappointing for me. Also more hotness with the couplings would have been nice too.

Now, I don't know if the Author saw some of the many reviews complaining about spelling and grammar, and went back and changed that, but I did not encounter any of that here when I read this book. So Kudos for changing that. I did however encounter what many reviewers stated that it was hard to know who was speaking to whom in any given scene. This unfortunately was true. You could be in the middle of a conversation and lose track of who is saying what. Which made the writing very choppy and threw you out of the flow of the story. VERY annoying at times. The fact that this was a common theme through out the book was not good. So the physical aspect of the writing needs to be a lot tighter.

But based on the premise, the characters, and the continued on going plot; I would recommend this read. I may give book 2 a try sometime in the near future.

He’s an Ujal who knows he’ll never have a mate. She’s a human who doesn’t want to take another chance on love. One small child doesn’t give them a choice.

With her toddler in tow, Vanessa Walker travels to Tampa, Florida to begin her new job at Ujal Station Tau. Then problems arise—her daughter is ill, and a sexy, demanding, overwhelming, purple-scaled Ujal is determined to do whatever he can to save Tabitha. When they realize Tabby isn’t ill, she’s Ujal, plenty of people don’t want Vanessa raising her newly tail-sporting alien daughter. Ujal royalty may support her, but only one person—one Ujal male—makes her feel safe: Erun fa Arex.

Erun fa Arex earned his position through blood, sweat, and scales with a trident as his constant companion. On Earth, he is the captain of the principessa’s elite guard, a worthy Ujal warrior matched by few. On Ujal, he grew up as a child slave forced to fight for sport and others’ pleasure. Fighting left physical and mental scars while the master’s growth-hormone injections left him unable to father younglings.

Erun never considered mating and having a family of his own until he meets Vanessa and Tabitha. Now he realizes everything he rejected—a mate and family—is exactly what he desires. And he will fight to keep them… to the death.

Erun is book four in The Ujal series. I really enjoyed this one. Kids add something special to a story when done right.

As I’ve said before I like the unique aliens in this series. Each Ujal has it’s own unique coloring, traits, and characteristics.

Erun’s history is harsh and dark. It’s made him who he is today; the hardened warrior. We also see that he has no reason to trust women, so his actions fit. At the start he comes off as an ass, but once you understand him more you see he has a heart and wants what all the others want, a mate and family. It was hard to learn about his past.

Vanessa is looking to start a new life after her husbands death, but little does she know his death isn’t what it seems. Besides that she soon learns her daughter is Ujal and they don’t want her raising her daughter. What is a mother to do, but fight for her child, Ujal be damed.

Theres surprises, action, tension, and love. I liked Vanessa and Erun together. They had a rocky start, but things turned out. I enjoyed how they interacted together and with Tabby along. What I especially loved was seeing Erun interact with Tabby. He was so sweet, patient, and loving.

Erun was a delight to read. One of my favorites in the series.

Book Review for Retribution by Chiah Wilder
Retribution (Nomad Biker Romance #2) - Chiah Wilder

Let start off by saying that we are really enjoying this series as well as this on going series. We really enjoyed this current story it was heart felt and suspenseful and had a cast of amazing characters and two people who were drifting through life and found love in the arms of their perfect mate.

We always pick a favorite character and mine this time around wound be Cobra he was my favorite he was really a bit of a knight and shining armor.Cobra was full of kindness and compassion and understanding a far cry from what his reputation states but, in this story a little slip of a girl managed to get beneath his Armour and experience a whole different side of him that he does not let other see.We loved the possessive and protective bada** biker who screamed danger most of the time who is surround with a dark aura could be capable of such tender feelings "just melted my heart."

Dakota was a little firecracker who for someone so young had some really tough breaks but, she was a survivor who rose above it all and it just made her stronger. We loved the little fierce and independent women who had a bit of a temper from the onset of the story as she was just one of those characters easy to love and one that was so brave.

Overall we loved the story from cover to cover it was steamy and had hot sexy scenes and was filled with suspense and club drama and also had a really lovely love story where two people who through friendship and trust fell in love when neither was looking."The perfect mix of of the things we love in a story."

This goes into the keeper pile to be read time and time again.

Recommended read to all !

Good vs Bad.

Light vs Dark.

Right vs Wrong.

There are always two sides to every coin.

Josiah ‘Liner’ Paldecki knew the moment he laid eyes on her that there was something different about her. Something special. Something so unique that it practically poleaxed him the moment that their eyes met.

Except, the next time he saw her, it was like she was a different woman altogether. There was a blankness to her eyes that concerned him. An air of menace about her that honestly scared him to death. He’s more than man enough to admit it.
At first, Liner thinks it’s because she’s bi-polar, or possibly psychopathic.

Then he realizes the truth.

That there isn’t a single person that exhibits such different personalities, but two.

Two identical twin sisters, both completely different, yet exactly the same.

One with a soul, and one without.

One that has his heart, and one that only wants to destroy it.

Ever hear curiosity killed the cat ?"Well", for Liner that is partly true.Liner for sometime noticed something was wrong with one of the members women that he could not just put his finger on what it was and years later he is still obsessing until it leads him on a path to satisfy his spidey sense which leads him to Theo and Linny.

This story was a very emotional one especially sense one of the main character's had been tortured in one sense or another her entire life but, there had been a few brief few days that they knew what it was like to know what love and happiness was all about.

As the story unfolds it had tons of drama, suspicions, twists and turns and was about love a sacrifices and finding love for a couple when neither were expecting it, but would change three lives forever. So touching.....

Theo-We found her to be sweet kind, caring, brave, loving, and a women who had been abused for 20 plus years and yet still remained pure of heart.

Liner-We just loved him! We found him to be caring, loving, sexy, protective, determined and a bloodhound when it came to obtaining knowledge and a man for once in his life is going to follow his heart and where it leads him.

Overall this was a great read for us that had a ton of things going on to keep us engaged and turning the pages. As the story unfolds more and more secrets come to light and three people who deserve to be together need to overcome some huge obstacles and one heck of a rocky road in order for them to obtained their happily ever afters and to truly grasps all that their heart desires.

"Well done"! "Our favorite kind of story"!

Another great read that goes into the keeper pile for us to be read over and over again.Lani Lynn Vale is truly one of our favorite authors and each and every time gives us character's to fall in love and each and every time we do just that when she creates a new story for us to dive right in and we do it all over again!
