Get Well Soon: History's Worst Plagues and the Heroes Who Fought Them - Jennifer Wright

I'm just about to start the last Chapter on Polio.

So, these are some of the things I have noticed so far:

1. I liked the second half of the book better than the first, even tho the discussions are not even trying to explore the causes of different diseases. Not in a depth or scientific way, anyway. I want to say that that ship has sailed, but hoestly I don't think that particular ship was ever launched.

2. There are some scary stories about medical conditions in this book - not epidemics(!), this book is really not about epidemics at all - but I appreciate Wright's style in that I needed that uplifting reference to Fraggle Rock at the end of the chapter on lobotomies. That was one scary chapter.

Let You Be My Puppet Once - Preetika Mehra

Losing their faith in the System, a group of MNC-employed youngsters decide to take revenge on some politicians and businessmen after having suffered at their hands. Their master plan also exposes the connections of the powerful with the rich, of the mafia with politicians and of those who exploited the poor. All this leads to a war. A war that had never happened.

The Chief of Intelligence had never dealt with such brilliant people who were entangling him in multiple versions of events. After a while, he is unable to differentiate between the real and planted evidence. The clock is ticking. The media is on adrenaline.

The Chief is faced with several questions. How did it all happen? Will he be able to solve the case? Can he get the accused politicians acquitted? Should he find an escape for himself amidst the turmoil?

It's time he found the answers!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! - Dr. Seuss,Walter Matthau

Book themes for Festivus: Read anything comedic; a parody, satire, etc. Books with hilariously dysfunctional families (must be funny dysfunctional, not tragic dysfunctional). Anything that makes you laugh (or hope it does).

On Christmas, can there possibly a better choice?

My newest video for Fiction Friday a series I am doing on my Booktube page. For those who are unaware Booktube is just Youtube for book nerds. Lots of us also post stuff about writing, too.

Fiction Friday is just where I read short bits of my own personal fiction, every first Friday of the month, except of course when inspiration is lacking.

I'm still so awkward reading to a camera. I wish I had this amazing memory and I could just remember the whole story, instead of looking and sounding like a fool. Ha ha. I'm also a total newbie when it comes to editing. I use my phone to record and edit, so please bear with me. I hope the quality gets better as I learn. Any tips welcome.
