Former military specialist and recluse Reece Hunt takes his job of protecting the Savage Kings MC very seriously. When one of their regular girls go missing, he won't rest until he tracks her down and makes sure she's safe.

While Cynthia Collins has loved every second she has spent with the Savage Kings, the problem is that none of the men have ever really cared for her. The guys are all starting to settle down and she's not getting any younger. Whatever hope Cynthia had of becoming one of the Kings' old ladies is quickly dwindling as she gets ready to turn thirty; that's why she decides that it's time to give up the club life in search of more.

After Reece shows up on Cynthia's doorstep, her plan of leaving the MC may unknowingly become more difficult than she expected.

For reasons Reece can't even understand, he begins sabotaging Cynthia's plan of dating men who don't ride Harleys or wear leather to try and lure her back to the club.

When Cynthia finds out what Reece has been up to, he'll have to either put up or shut up. It's been more than a decade since he let himself fall for a woman, and he's not sure if he's ready to go down that bumpy road again. Besides, he doesn't have time for any distractions from monitoring the club's security.

Reece has apparently forgotten that sometimes love has a way of knocking even the most stubborn men off their feet, whether they're ready for it or not.

This is the seventh book in the Savage Kings MC series but it can be read as a standalone. The preferred reading order is:

King's Road
Chase

Abe

Torin

War

Maddox
Dalton

Reece
Miles (Coming Soon)

Let's start off by saying that this was our third read by these authors and we really enjoyed it.I am a big MC gene reader junkie so whenever I get a chance to snag a new MC author to feed my addition I do and I am so glad I came across this series as it is so much fun.

I loved the main character's from the onset of the story. Omg ! I fell head over heels myself for Reece with all that cockiness and those sexy good looks.I have to say I have read a lot of MC romances but, this was one of those romance reads that was super sweet because we loved that whole 10 date rule before I will sleep with you deal.I have to say that I loved  the courtship that went on between Cynthia and Reece as he really did go all out to make them special and whether they were in person or on video chat let's just say those ones were a little more interesting lol.

We loved getting to know Reece a lot better as we already loved him from the previous books so we were glad to get to know his story.Reece's story explains a lot about him and why he chooses to be alone so much.Although Reece's didn't have the ideal home life he made some major life changes to see to the happiness of himself and his women and future family. Lost and betrayed and broken is how he  came to the Savage Kings.

We loved Reece with his sense of humor( who need he had one to begin with lol) his sexy good looks, loved his possessiveness and protectiveness for those he cared for and loved but, most of all we loved the lengths and the sneakiness he went to in order to win the girl who from the moment he met her wanted her.We loved the smart hot sexy computer nerd that made us laugh out loud time and time again throughout this engaging tale.

Cynthia we found to be feisty, sexy, full of fire had a sense of humor and was comfortable with owning up to her own sexual needs and wants and the choices she's made past and present and has no trouble at all speaking her mind.Cynthia has been running from her past but, while carving out a new life for herself she been healing and looking to he future in the meantime.

The chemistry between Reece and Cynthia was off the charts and we are sorry it took so long for them to find their way to one another because clearly they were meant to be together. There sexual encounters were super hot as well as playful. These two just needed to be in the same room together and we felt the heat and sparks all around them.

Overall we loved the story from cover to cover as it was engaging, funny, heart felt, fill with some drama and made us laugh out loud time and time again as well as shedding more than a few tears and had a sweet love story that was really touching and turned out to be one heck of an enjoyable read.

Recommended read to all!

Zee + Annmarie and Tan + Jubilee. Forever. No exceptions. They were to have the picture-perfect life together. Everything was all planned out. Jubilee was to marry Eitan and Ezekiel was to marry Annmarie. That’s how it was always supposed to be from the moment that they met. Textbook, right? Wrong. Eitan and Annmarie die in a freak accident that never should have happened, leaving the two survivors reeling. Sixteen years later, Jubilee and Zee can’t even be in the same room with each other before things begin to deteriorate. Too many memories. Too much pain. Not enough forgiveness. They’re like hellfire and holy water, and neither one of them is willing to admit that they’re wrong. Then one day things change, and all of a sudden, they’re looking at each other like maybe they aren’t each other’s enemies after all.

Let's start off by saying we are a a fan of this author's books and we are always looking forward to read the next book that is out in their current series and I have to say that this was one of the funniest books yet to date.

We really enjoyed the story as it really had a great cast of characters, was funny although the plot itself did not have a lot going on in it but, it did surround a couple who have always had a love/hate relationship since been teenagers and a family tragedy that both of them were never able to move past. One drunken night and things changed forever....

The story was about forgiveness and healing but, it also made this couple realize that in truth they were the perfect mix for one another.

The story had many funny moments because the couple never stopped bickering with one another and were playing a for a long time a cat and mouse game even if the weren't ready to admit the chemistry and the attraction they had for one another."We loved their so called courtship."Jubilee took matter's into her own hands and I have to say their first non bed sexual encounter was down right hilarious!

Jubilee-I loved her as she had a bubbly personality, was smart, sexy, had a mouth on her, cursed like a sailor, was very independent, cautious and prickly as a pear but, oh so love-able.

A favorite quote from Jubilee-" I couldn’t tell her that I’d had sex with the one man I’d never thought I’d have sex with the night before that had a dick like a donkey."

Life is like a dick. Sometimes it’s up. Sometimes it’s down. Also, it won’t be hard forever. -Text from Jubilee to Turner

You’re not allowed to play the lottery. You hit the jackpot when you found me. -Jubilee’s secret thoughts

Beards make me hungry…and horny. -Text from Jubilee to Zee

Zee- We loved him from the start he was sexy as sin, protective, possessive, funny, talented when it came to his art but, what we loved most about him was that no matter his love/hate relationship thing he had going on with Jubilee he always had her back and was very protective of her even if it was from a distant.

Sex in a deer stand isn’t advisable. -Things Zee never thought he’d have to say

Jubilee and Zee made an awesome couple she was more of the mellow type and he more structured when it came to life and eating but, Jubilee loved to indulge in the sinful like waffle and hamburgers  LOL.

The couple were super hot together had great chemistry and had so much fun in and out of bed.

"We loved it! It was the perfect romance read for us that was light and fun even though the story had a serious undertone but, after reading a really Dark Romance Read previously to this current story it was the perfect book to lighten things up as they say and give us some major laughs while doing it.

We recommend this current story if your looking for a not so perfect romance that was quite funny from beginning to end.

Guns of the Mountain Man
Guns of the Mountain Man - William W. Johnstone

Title: Guns Of the Mountain Man

Series : last Of the Mountain Man #24

Author : William W. Johnstone

Netgalley

book synopsis

With a brace of Colt .44s, a deadly aim, and a bullet-shredded Bible, despicable desperado Lazarus Cain has already made a name for himself in Texas. But he makes his first mistake when he crosses a Colorado ranch in the highland meadows known as Sugarloaf. His second mistake? Crossing the rancher, Smoke Jensen. With a pair of burning six-guns and a deadly gift for using them, Smoke is about to blow Cain back to his maker. But not before he gives him a flaming taste of Hell -- Mountain Man style

my thoughts

Would I recommend this series : yes

Will I be reading more by this author: yes

I can see why some people didn't like this book because it does have flashbacks" to his other books in the series ,but for me i actually liked it because they just made me want to read more of this series, love how Smoke's friends came to his add even when he didn't want to ask them or even know they was coming, how close the characters where and are like a family. Also the flashbacks help to make the characters more real at least to me , and the bad guy was even a bit creepy which was a other thing I liked about the book .With that said I want to thank Netgalley and Kensington Books for letting me once again read and review one of William W. Johnstone's books exchange for my honest opinion

The Guns Above by Robyn Bennis - My Thoughts
The Guns Above - Robyn Bennis

So this was #4 of my Christmas books and while I did enjoy my read, I had been hoping for much more.  All the buzz on my social media was lauding the book to the skies as the best thing ever!  And so great to have a female main protagonist in a steampunk airship military fantasy book.  Well... yeah... okay... but it wasn't that great, folks.

I liked it because the dialogue was witty, the characters fun and quite honestly, I'm a bit of an easy sell for a book about a tight group of soldiers/adventurers/scoundrels/whatevers fighting the odds, so to speak.

Now, while I liked the characters, I sure would have liked more about them, what brought them to the point where they are in the story, what formed them, the whys of them, all that stuff.  Especially Josette, the female captain and Bernat - Bernie, the foppish spy/aristocrat/ne'er do well.  I loved their banter - I'm told it's rather Pratchett-esque, but having only read one Prachett book (aside from Good Omens), I can't say with any kind of certainty if that's right or not.

There was a lot, an awful lot of battle narrative and even more description of the details of the airship. I mean... tons of details into all the nooks and crannies.  I would much rather have learned more about the characters and the society and the actual world of the story than all that minute stuff about the ship.

So yeah, I don't get all the glowing blah-blah I read from people whose opinions I respect.  Just because the MC is a woman?  I mean, even that HUGE plot point is barely discussed or examined - far better we learn about fictitious airship mechanics.  I think we should be far past celebrations just because a woman leads a military/steampunk adventure fantasy.

So the book had great bones, but the meat of it was sadly lacking for me.  I'll check out the second book when it comes out, I'm sure, if only to see if there's more meat, so to speak.
