Let's start off off by saying this was a brand new author for us and if I am being honest I started out thinking maybe that this was not my kind of read but, boy was I so wrong.

The story was filled with messed up and broken characters and some of their lives were messier than others one reeling from pain and loss and anxiety all the while feeling loss and broken and then you have the bad boy who straddles the line of no return but, deep down is a kind and caring soul with and overprotective nature.

This story was heart felt and emotional and one that had main characters that we easy to love and we loved getting to know the rest of the characters as well some deadly other teasers but, one thing for sure is they had each others backs .I loved the boys teasing of Aiken it lightened him up a bit as his temper was scary as hell
.

I loved the romance that developed between Everly and Aiken and how they were drawn to one another right from the moment they met and the push and pull between them.The emotional turmoil both seem to be going through was tense at times for Aiken he was struggling to do what he though best and Everly just struggling to keep her head above water on and emotional level .The story could have turned in a totally different direction had not Aiken not fallen for Everly and become so protective of her.

Overall we loved the story with its interesting characters. I loved that it was different from anything I had read before.I loved that two people found one another when they needed each other the most even if their journey was messy and bumpy it was theirs.We love Aiken and Everly's chemistry even when they weren't burning up they sheets the heat between them was always their. One of the best thing about this story is that we saw so much personal growth for both Aiken and Everly they both came a long way from what they were in the very beginning but, one thing for sure is Aiken will always be the bad boy at heart that screams "Danger Beware " .

I am really looking forward to reading more of this series.

A very surprising read, in that I had an (albeit vague) idea of what it’d be about, and it turned out it was actually much more grounded in dark fantasy than in the “basic contemporary” setting I was expecting. Which was, in fact, for the best, as I got sucked in very quickly into the story. I was, as usual with Pigeonhole, glad I didn’t start on the very first day, since it meant being able to read more chapters in one go. For some books, it doesn’t matter to me much; for this one, I really appreciated that.

A word of warning about the very beginning, which makes it sound like the whole novel will be told in second person POV present tense (a.k.a something I instinctively dislike): it doesn’t last, so don’t let this stop you like it almost stopped me. The story is worth its salt after that, and this point of view quickly makes sense at the end of the first chapter.

The story follows the life of Cassandra Tipp, nee Thorn, a rumoured crazy writer living in the woods, who from early childhood had a very conflictual relationship with her family. Did she commit the murders she was suspected of, or was there another explanation? Was she crazy, or gifted with a second sight? Was she a victim of abuse, and was that abuse committed by people she should’ve been able to trust… or was there something else altogether behind it? The author toys with her readers all along, because no matter which “explanation” you decide on, the other one still cannot be completely discounted, and many situations can, in fact, be read and understood both ways.

It is a gruesome story, all in all, full of blood and ancient things, with passages clearly not for the faint of heart. Disgusting and revolting? Sure. But fascinating at the same time, so very fascinating. I had a hard time putting it off when I did, and kept wanting to get back to it. And for once, while the ending is somewhat ambiguous, the quality of this ambiguity didn’t bother me like it usually tend to.

Omg ! I really don't know where to start with this one as this book was one emotional roller coaster for us!The story was exciting and intense and riveting and the characters just captivated me especially Reap/Marcus he was one seriously dark and dangerous man and a whole lot of mind -ffed.

No matter how messed up Marcus was that man drew you right in and saying he was a bad boy was not nearly enough but, one word sinister comes to mind and whats more women are drawn to him just ask pretty girl.

Rochelle comes from a loving family completely opposite of Marcus but, she in a sea of pain at the moment and Marcus seems to be her salvation but, is anything but, she is drawn to him and perhaps she sees something in him that others don't but, we always crave the things we cannot have.I really loved Rochelle's character she was a whole lot of fun, sexy,funny,tells it like it is kind of girl,sassy and has no filter and with the men she is currently hanging with can get you dead.We loved Marcus's pet name for Rochelle the moment he saw her all broken and lost he started calling her pretty girl which was kind of sweet .

The push and pulled and distance did nothing to the chemistry that Rochelle and Marcus had as their chemistry was explosive and hotter than hell.Marcus was whacked in my book but, when he was with Rochelle he was still a douche but, he was also something else as he could be loving and caring and compassionate and Rochelle was changing him because he was addicted to her not only sexually but, on some small emotional level just by being who she was.Marcus's possessiveness was hotter then hell and their is no doubt if someone tried coming between them there would be dire consequences.

Blaze was another interesting character as he could be sexy and playful and could turn on a dime and be deadly as sin.What a contradiction this man was.Blaze was intriguing and we are going to love getting to know more about him as you could not help but be drawn to the man who could go out of his way to help a girl he barely knows and yet , could hate someone so fiercely.

Overall this dark romance was a gripping read for us and we loved it and we love how unusual it was so much so as Marcus owned and worked a crematorium "yet", he belonged to and MC as well and his brother was the Clubs President and somehow they where partners not your typical biker and it is really unclear what roll Reap is within the club but, with a MC and its members being thrown into the story in any capacity made the story all the more interesting and Snow he caught my interest. lol

If you love Dark Romance this is the perfect book to dive right into the book left me reeling and uneasy but, it had me engrossed into the pages to the bitter end .The more I read this author the more we love her....

This is an English translation of a book published in Germany in 2016. The translation includes an updated afterword. The points raised in the book are good, and her points about how we should view rapists does provoke thought. I do wish there had been more up to date studies.
