Release Blast - Checked

Title: Checked
Series: Boston Terriers Hockey
Author: Jacob Chance
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: August 23, 2019

They call him ‘Wilde Man’. Rumor has it he’s an animal on the ice and between the sheets.

Like the rest of the female population, I’ve been crushing on Clancy Wilde, the captain of Boston University’s hockey team, since the first time I saw him. Big, blond, and charming, he ticks all the boxes.

When we find ourselves at a wedding, drunk and flirting, I know I can finally check this tattooed, bad boy, hockey player off my wish list.

One night is all it was meant to be, until I see two pink lines on the pregnancy test.

How did the notch on my belt turn into a ball and chain?

CHECKED (Boston Terriers Hockey Book 1)CHECKED by Jacob Chance
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Tenley is at a wedding and one of her all time crushes sits next to her. What's a girl to do? Well she wanted to brush him off. The heart wants what it wants, and they have an amazing night.

Clancy is known as "The Wilde Man." He is not really a player, though most assume he is. With his connection to the frat, and sports, it is assumed. He is a good person at heart, however, and cannot get his mind of the one chance he had with Tenley.

I loved the banter and the heat that blasted right into the beginning of the book. Right from the get go you know about the smoke that leads to the fire between these two. It felt stilted at times, and I was a little frustrated about the stiff pieces of conversation now and again. Yet, the story overall was so good - so compelling - I could not wait to see what happened next. What happened? I read the book! I am excited to see what comes next from this new series.

Release Blast - Drummer Girl

We're celebrating the release of DRUMMER GIRL by Ginger Scott! One-click your copy on all platforms today!

Drummer Girl by Ginger Scott
Mature YA/New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release day: July 30, 2019

Drummer Girl

A mature YA/New Adult contemporary rock star romance by Ginger Scott

Arizona Wakefield was a beat without a melody. Living a half-breathing life in a half-finished neighborhood with parents who always wore half-hearted smiles, the high school senior only had one thing that let her color outside her family’s perfectly drawn lines—her drums.

Jesse Barringer was a song without a chorus. The son of a washed-up rock star who’s also one hell of a deadbeat dad, he was given two things from his father—musical genius and a genetic link to the bipolar disorder that drives him mad.

One night in a garage at the end of a cul-de-sac in the middle of a bankrupt California neighborhood, Jesse’s melody found Arizona’s rhythm. An angry boy with storm-colored eyes found a blonde angel in Doc Martens with missing lines in her own story. Where her rhythm stopped, his words took over, and together, they wrote one hell of a story.

** Drummer Girl is a mature YA/New Adult romance that touches on mental health, drug abuse and includes mature sexual situations.

EXCERPT:

Drummer Girl, Copyright Ginger Scott 2019

“That’s the first time I’ve played that song. I like it. We should add it to our set,” he says, pulling the strap from around his neck before setting his guitar at the foot of his bed. “What do you think?”

He twists so our knees are touching and our shoulders are squared.
“I think you’re a showoff, one. And two…I totally think we should close with that at our gig. People love retro shit like that at shows.” I don’t really know what people like at shows because the only kinds I’ve ever been to have been for high school marching nerds or jazz geeks. I probably don’t even deserve to utter the word gig yet. I’m a gig virgin. I do know movies, though, and if this life was a movie, our band would close with that.
Jesse’s eyes linger on my face, making me warm.
“Okay then,” he says, finally. “And I’m not a showoff.”
His lips pucker with his smirk and mine follow suit until a laugh seeps through.
“You so are!” I shove at him playfully, and his hands wrap around my wrists and shove back gently but don’t let go.
“No, I’m a great example. That’s a totally different thing,” he says, pulling me toward his chest until my fingertips meet the hard surface of his pecs under a well-worn white T-shirt.
“I’m pretty sure it’s just a synonym for showoff how you’re using it. In fact, now you’re just being arrogant!” I gripe back through laughter, a wry smile playing at one side of my mouth. Jesse remains quiet, though. His head leaned a tick to the right. My lips vibrate with this sudden change in atmosphere, and without even helping myself, I bite my bottom lip. There is just enough light in the room to see these small things we’re doing, these…signs. At least, I’m giving a sign. I hope I’m not imagining Jesse’s.
At least three full breaths pass between us without words. I count mine, and I guess how many he takes because really, I can’t see much beyond the dark centers of his eyes and the top curl of his lip. I wait for him. Even though I’m dizzy and happy and excited, I don’t want to be eager and desperate. I wait for him to move closer…to do something.
I wish for him.

“Would it be okay if I kissed you now?”

We're celebrating the release of The Guy on the Right by Kate Stewart! Fall in love with Theo and Laney today!

Blurb:

Strike One-My mother named me Theodore after her favorite chipmunk.

Not cool, Mom.

I‘ve spent most of my life answering to Teddy, because I couldn’t make Theo work.

Except for here. College. The place where all bets are off, and I’ve managed to redeem myself.
There’s only one problem, my new roommate, Troy, is football royalty and looks like he stepped off the set of an Abercrombie shoot.

Doesn’t matter, I cook a mean breakfast for his panty parade, and we get along well.
And anyway, this year I got the girl. And she’s perfect.

That’s right. Theodore Houseman, former band geek, now marching band rock star has finally landed the girl of his dreams.

Everything is perfect.

That is, until Troy takes a good look at her.

I’m not going down without a fight. As a matter of fact, I’m not going down at all. As glorious as these days may be for my all-star roommate, Laney is my end game.

I may not know much about play strategy, but I’ve been the good guy my whole life. I’ve been listening and I know exactly what women want. Framed in a picture standing next to me, Troy may seem like Mr. Perfect, but he’s underestimating the guy on the right.

Spoiler alert: In this story, the underdog is going to win.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Laney meets someone she never expects at a party. They both have a bad night and commiserate enough to become friends. If she can make room in her life to let someone in he may be a happy addition.

Theo is intrigued from the get go. Attracted to first her voice, then her beauty, he just cannot get enough of her in his life. Laney brings him joy and helps inspire him.

Together these characters make for quite the read. I love the banter and openly laughed out loud multiple times. Such a great story going at a good steady pace. I could not put it down.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gordon "Mac" MacGregor is in the business of protecting others. It is more than just instinct. As a former Army Ranger, he has the training and experience to complete that drive to protect. Now, his biggest hurdle is resisting the woman he should be guarding.

Tabitha "TR" Meyers is a writer, who has stumbled across something sinister. She keeps getting messages that urge her to look further. Is that anonymous messenger a help or a hindrance? Should she bother to go into the dark? Maybe with Mac with her, TR can feel safe about wherever she is.

Well let me just take a breath and say - WOW! This new series hits the road running and does not take a brake for anyone. Let me just warn you .... this is seriously hot and sexy. Every page filled with angst, tension, & some hotter than hot sparks. I am literally on the edge of my seat now waiting for the next book, since I am so excited from this one I can hardly sit still. My instinct now is this author is getting added to my must have list.

About the Author:

Lisa B. Kamps is a USA Today Bestselling Author who loves cheering loudly for her favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals. She came about the fandom honestly as she lives in Maryland with her husband and two sons (who are mostly sorta-kinda out of the house), one very spoiled Border Collie, two cats with major attitude, several head of cattle, and entirely too many chickens to count.

While Lisa writes a lot of hockey - one such series, The Baltimore Banners, features "…hard-hitting, heart-melting hockey players…" [USA Today], on and off the ice - she also delves deep *ahem* into the heat with a series of hot and heroic firefighters who put more than their lives on the line in the Firehouse Fourteen series. She's recently introduced a whole new team of hot hockey players who play hard and love even harder in her Banners' spin-off series, The York Bombers. The Chesapeake Blades--a romance series featuring women's hockey--also recently launched with WINNING HARD. Her newest series, Cover Six Security, is launching now!

Lost in the Shadows Excerpt © Tracie Douglas 2018
I only need one reason to say yes, and even though I said no and told him it is a bad idea, the truth is, I wanted to scream "yes” the moment the words slipped from his lips.
As crazy as it sounds and is, this man, this stranger, unnerves and excites me all at the same time. I can’t picture my life without him in it.
“Because I’m not ready to let you go yet,” he murmurs, opening his eyes, letting me see the honesty staring back at me. I gasp at his declaration, and when he continues to talk, I lose my breath. “I will stand by you and protect you. I will give you a good life until all of this can be righted. I will be your friend. I’m not your happily ever after. I’m not the man who can give you the life you dream or the family you want. Our arrangement will be in name only, but I promise, Penny, you will not walk away from our arrangement with a broken heart. I will do everything in my power to protect it.”
I close my eyes and fill my burning lungs with air. His speech started off good, but if he believes I won’t be brokenhearted at the end of all of this, he can think again. I’m already invested, and I can’t seem to figure out when it happened. It’s hard to admit, but he’s already broken my heart a little with his words.
The one thing I can take from his reason is that neither of us is ready to let the other go.

Surviving on caffeine most days, Tracie Douglas lives in the mountains of Southern California with her husband, two children, and one dog. She spends her days chasing children and the fur baby, all while maintaining the illusion of sanity.

Her nights are spent toiling away at the keyboard, creating a world filled with hot men and strong women. She loves to read and write all types of books but tends to lean on the darker side of the spectrum. She’s pretty handy with a crochet hook, too.
