Doom
Six years ago, I lost everything that meant anything to me. Since then, I've been moving through life in a fog. My club brothers are the only people I can tolerate, and only on a good day.

Then 'she' crashes into my life and the pain I've kept buried surfaces again. She's a mirror projecting everything I've lost back at me and I can no longer control the rage I've managed to keep in check.

Lyric
I am nobody.
I've worked hard to make sure I stay a nobody while my sister's career continues to shoot into space. I like my anonymity and the life I've carefully carved out for myself.

That is until an angry biker forces me into the spotlight and I have no idea how to stop myself from falling...hard.

Let's start off by saying that this is a fairly new author for us but, we are so loving their books that we have read so far as well as this on going series that we are totally loving it.This author is on their way to being on my top favorites list.

We have to say that we really enjoyed this story from cover to cover. We could not put the book down until it was completely finished. This current story had us laughing out loud the entire time. The story had so many amazing character's to fall in love with as well and we did just that!

We loved Doom from the onset of the story as he was, dark, brooding and broken and a man who seemed to just be skating through life until he was reawakened again by one special women.

Li Li- We really found her to be a hoot, feisty, independent, smart, sexy and a problem solver.Overall she just had this larger than life personality and we loved that most about her character.

Doom and Li Li were super hot together in and out of bed.I found they were just what the other needed it was just something about their chemistry together that had them spilling all their secrets to one another and unburdening their hearts giving them a chance to finally feel free.

This was a wonderful love story filled with tons of suspense, drama, healing, second chances, laughter and perhaps a miracle or two and "we absolutely love it".

Jasmine Buckley’s busy life has no room for anything that doesn’t involve color palettes, fragrance samples, or building her burgeoning cosmetic empire. And she’s certainly too damn busy for a man. Too bad for her, she’s about to meet a man who could either be the makeover her love life needs, or the ultimate test of her new waterproof mascara formula.

Valen "Alamo" Slater is the unapologetic Sgt. At. Arms for the Dogs of Fire MC in Savannah. Alamo is used to getting what he wants, and right now what he wants is Jasmine Buckley. The beautiful and fiery redhead is everything he’s ever wanted in a woman. The problem is, she has rules…strict ones. Lucky for him, there’s never been a rule he couldn’t bend…or break.

When Alamo discovers his sister severely beaten, his pursuit of justice plunges him into the heart of an ever-present and growing darkness in Savannah. With everyone and everything he loves in danger, Alamo must face the demons of his past in order to protect his future.

I lost Quinlan in high school, but I never stopped loving her. I never stopped protecting her, either. It didn’t matter where my life took me because in the end, I knew she’d be mine. At least, I did until she shut me out.

Now there’s a threat that could destroy everything I’ve ever wanted, and I will move heaven and earth to eliminate it. Because when I said I’d be there, I meant it, and it’s time she remembered who I am…even if it costs me my only chance at redemption.

Re-released in a second edition with new content. The town of Bliss, Colorado, offered Hope McLean a second chance at life, a gift she cherishes every day. Her past was dominated by dark secrets and regret, most of which centered on a man named Christian Grady. All of that was behind her now, years of horror distilled down into the occasional nightmare or a random feeling of being watched. Surrounded by new friends, she tried hard to leave the past where it belonged—in the rearview mirror. Raised together, James Glen and Noah Bennett were the best of friends. They dreamed of growing up in Bliss, finding love, and settling down to share their lives on the Circle G ranch. James would manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch while Noah served the town as the resident veterinarian. Everything was perfectly planned out, until a woman came between them and their future shattered. Noah left Bliss for New York City and James was left to struggle to keep the Circle G alive on his own. Noah returns to Bliss on a mission to rebuild his life. When he sees Hope, he knows his return home was meant to be. Hope’s kindness shines like a beacon calling him to her. Unfortunately, he isn’t the only man interested in Hope. James is also interested in the beautiful girl with a mysterious past. He can’t be forced to choose between the woman of his dreams and his best friend again. As romance begins to bloom, a dark specter from Hope’s past returns to claim her. To save Hope, and themselves, James and Noah will have to rebuild the relationship they lost and fight for their future with Hope together.

We really are enjoying this series as it is filled with amazing characters and of course they fill the town of Bliss with their own brand of  men and women.

The story started out by drawing you into a plot of treachery and pain and suffering and loss.We loved the little town that was full of these eclectic people but, one thing is for sure that are just one big extended family full of oddities.

James has been living a half of life since his brother walked out of his life and that of his families.James coping mechanism has been countless women and loneliness. On the brighter side of things he wants the one girl he knows he needs to filled the void missing from his life but, is afraid of laying claim to her because his heart is broken due to his brother betrayal of leaving him over a gold digging conniving women who knew to play on ones emotional conflicts.

I found James to be all alpha and brash and sexy as sin and also someone who does not trust easily and one who runs from any kind of intimacy.

I found Hope to be sweet and kind and loving and wallowing in self pity but, also has taken responsible for the mess she has made of her life and is striving to change that. Our heart went out to Hope for the things she endure and the betrayals she experience and the constant fear she lived in because of her past .

Noah I found to be a little bit cocky had a sense of humor and was sexy as sin but, also is a changed man from the man he had been when living in Bliss in the past he now has darkness within him now.

We love the romance that developed between these two estranged brothers and one women perfect for them and the only one who will be able to mend the riff between the two as well as mend the heart for all parties involved.

We loved the plot the drama and the love triangles as well as the poly relationships with the bdsm elements. We loved the characters and their unique relationships but whats more we love the alpha men and their over bearing possessiveness and protective instincts .We loved that this town came together to protect someone in need and that was in trouble both the men and the women and proved they always have each others backs.

Overall we loved the story from beginning to end as the drama unfolded and the character's kept us enmeshed in the story and turning the pages. The story was about healing and forgiveness and right the wrongs of the past but, most of all finding the love of your life and the one women to make you whole once again and hopefully achieving your happily ever after.

Quick read
Small Towns, Big Dreams: Sexy Small Town Romance Starter Set - Zoe York

Small Towns, Big Dreams by Zoe York is a fast paced fun read.  This book is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading.  Small Towns, Big Dreams is a well written book.  I love Ms York's characters in this book.  There is plenty of drama, humor and spice to keep it interesting.  This is two books in one.  What Once Was Perfect is the first awesome story.  Love in a Small Town is the second book included in this book.  I enjoyed reading Small Towns, Big Dreams and look forward to reading more from Zoe York in the future.  There are no cliff-hangers in this book.

Madness in Small Towns (Small Town Series, Book 2)
Madness in Small Towns (Small Town Series, Book 2) - Iza Moreau I just really like this series. The books aren't perfect - some typos and other stuff that pulls me out of the story a bit - but I like the characters so much. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a series this much. The mysteries are well done and there's been parts of the plot in all three books that made me stop and say "oh! I didn't see that coming." I love that.

Fun with a side of creepy
Harrison Squared - Daryl Gregory

*** This review has also been posted on The Social Potato

Harrison Squared genuinely surprised me. It’s not that I expected to not enjoy it, but since I hadn’t read a single review for it or even heard much about it besides what I'd gathered from reading the blurb, I had no idea what to expect when I dived in (if you’ve read the book, that statement would amuse you).  I only knew that there was marine biology involved in some way and I was in.

This book is so atmospheric. It’s creepy to the bone, complete with a small town out in the middle of nowhere that seems more like one giant cult and scary (sea) monsters. H2 (aka Harrison Squared or Harrison Harrison) and his mom move out there for a short period of time so that his mom can do some research on a particular sea creature.

H2 starts going to a school where he sticks out like a sore thumb, where no one understands his jokes, and where he has no idea what the kids are learning and doesn’t understand their fancy hand signs but H2, like any curious teenager, digs deeper and he unearths some dark secrets.

H2, for the most part, is an admirable character. He sometimes makes jokes that make me cringe but I liked being inside his head! He was relatable. He has a sense of humor and his loyalty to his (sometimes absent minded) mother makes me smile. His need to dig deep and unearth the secrets also just makes the book so much fun to read because i became so invested in what was happening.

This book also comes with a really fun cast of secondary characters, including a female who *gasp* isn’t the love interest (and I hope it stays that way).

H2 becomes close to one person in particular and that is Lub. Lub was actually a pretty interesting character (not being human and all) although I found it hard to get behind him at times. He taught himself how to read, write and speak English with help from just textbooks and I find that really odd. Also just his ease around humans, or H2 in particular was kind of weird and I wish Lub, as interesting as he was, had been more fleshed out.

H2 also gets to know some of the other kids in town and I liked that their relationship was realistically developed. There are so many differences between H2 and the rest of the kids and it would be really weird if they just loved him from day 1. They are vary of him but over time they get to know him better and while I wouldn't say they are all friends by the end of the book, there is a sense of companionship, and a friendship that is in it's initial stages.

I also LOVED H2's aunt. She is such a fun person and when I started the book, I expected her to be horrible but she wasn't. She's odd, that's for sure, but she is also really genuine and really does care for H2 and I liked that!

It was the horrorsque aspect to the novel that really got my attention though. I dived into the book expecting it, but I was also kind of scared because tentacle monsters are just really creepy. I ended up not being scared at all. I don’t know what that says about the quality of the monsters but I will say that I really enjoyed reading them. I do think they could have been scarier which is why I felt like this book was more of a creepy paranormal than it was a horror but you know, it was still A LOT OF FUN.

The author has only just begun scratching the surface with these creatures, just to whet our appetite for them, and to draw us into the world. I only imagine that the further we dive into the series (I hope this is going to be a series!), the more information we will get and the more we will be immersed into this world (HA HA. I AM FUNNEH).

There book has a well defined plot as well and nothing ends on a cliffhanger (isn’t that lovely?), it ends on the perfect note where you want to read the sequel (if there will be one) but since the overall arc of the book is complete, you can finish the book with a sense of closure instead of desperate need.

This is a really fun, well-written book that will take you on a (somewhat) scary adventure and leave you begging to know more.
